The shipping industry has set ambitious decarbonization goals. But how to get there? Katie Brigham reports on Seabound, a company making tech for shippers to capture their carbon emissions at sea. “There is so much CO2 out there being emitted by ships, and not a lot of solutions yet going after them,” said CEO Alisha Fredriksson. Two years ago, Seabound raised a $4.4 million seed round led by Lowercarbon Capital. Fredricksson expects the company will raise a Series A round later this year or early next, to help build its first full scale system and start delivering to commercial customers in 2025.
