Share what your cancellation policy is these days. Money back if cancel within 30 days of arrival? Strict? Loose? What works these days? Many thanks as always to Sarah's former marketing genius Lee Sims for the question. Full refund outside of 30 days, no refund inside 30 days. Heard a talk with David Angotti the other day and tend to agree with this assessment - over the next handful of years, the industry will move to adopt pricing tiers similar to hotels - a discounted "guaranteed rate" and a higher, "cancellable rate."
Free cancellation minus 2.9% of total booking before 60 days. 30-60 days 50% back. 7-29 days 25% back. Within 7 days no refund A little more complicated but it allows is to make over 100% for owners within 60 days days and helps the guest feel like they got something back.

5moOurs is 30-45 days depending on the platform. I want to go less strict but we have a short window to rebook and our major season is only 2.5 months long. Our owners depend on this money to cover their expenses. I do like the 50% ones where you can keep half as I think that is fair. Owners get something and renters aren't out all their money either.
