I was wondering when these were coming back. I think Puma has made a good move here. Back in the 90s, fashion trends in Europe vs. the U.S. were very different. One favored football-inspired low-profile shoes while the other was dominated by chunky basketball silhouettes. In the early 2000s the rise of the internet ushered in an era of globalization that started unifying worldwide trends. When Puma brought the Mostro to the U.S. they sold like hotcakes. They were everywhere. I think Puma has great timing on this re-release. With Y2K nostalgia out there and minimal footwear still coming from high fashion brands like Givenchy and Balenciaga, the look is right. It also feels new to the younger generation who wasn't around to experience it the first time. And with a variety of both inline releases and wild collaborations on tap, the product assortment looks like it's there as well. Puma seemingly has what it takes to make a real moment here. Great brands not only capitalize on demand, they create it. https://lnkd.in/g6MfRkwj
