The back half of 2023 and early 2024 has been challenging for many of us, with mergers, acquisitions, and bankruptcies that impacted many lives. I can understand and empathize with those who have dealt with one of these situations. I have found myself unemployed after the company I was with filed for bankruptcy in December and closed its doors earlier this month. As frustrating and hopeless as it can feel, these times can also be the catalyst for the change needed in our lives. Yes, it is time-consuming and draining in every aspect to seek your next opportunity, but I assure you that your next chapter is just around the corner and can be your best yet! But as is true in life, those who work towards their personal goals with grit, determination, and drive are typically the ones who attain and exceed them. The caveat is that it doesn't always happen in the time frame we want. So certainly be strategic and aggressive in your effort to land your next role, but also take this time to refresh, reconnect, and rejuvenate all aspects of your life. Use this "extra time" for what can be... "a gift." Find that balance in your day to be tireless and strategic in finding your next opportunity...but choose wisely how you "invest the extra time" you have while searching. Give both the same effort and intensity; you will be amazed at the outcome! Feel free to contact me if I can help in any way as we navigate these times together. "Time is free, yet it's priceless. You can't own it, but you can use it. You can't keep it, but you can spend it. Once you've lost it, you can never get it back."
At times, our lives need to be completely shaken up, changed, and rearranged to help us find our true purpose and lead us to the place we’re meant to be.
Well said brother! Another test and opportunity to strengthen our faith as well! 🙏🏼💪🏼🙏🏼💪🏼
Anything I can do to help you let me know
Well said MY man!
Great message Scott! We will all be looking out for you!
I fully agree with this.
Hi Scott - Thank you for that thoughtful and supportive post. You highlight some important points. Looking at the silver lining, being persistent and enjoying the down time. Time is fleeting and having "free" time away from work is priceless. Folks should take the opportunity to celebrate it! Wishing you and anyone in your position the very best! As you said, the best may be yet to come.
Expectation is the enemy of happiness! God has got this!
Great perspective!
