This philosophy has helped me earn my leadership certification and induction into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Through combining a diversity perspective and intersectionality approach, our new article contributes to a complex conceptualization of inclusive leadership for addressing diversity in schools…We outline the following five tenets of inclusive school leaders:   1.   Inclusive school leaders view diversity from a broader perspective that includes disability, gender, race, ethnicity, language, religion, sexual orientation, class, Indigenous people, migrants, refugees, or forced displacements etc.  2.   Inclusive school leaders recognize that diverse identities are socially constructed and that being labelled as a minoritized group can negatively affect their lives.  3.   Inclusive school leaders view diversity as an asset as opposed to a deficiency.  4.   Inclusive school leaders consider multiple marginalizations simultaneously to better understand their interaction and effect on minoritized students and staff.  5.   Inclusive school leaders recognize that schools’ narrower responses to diversity may further marginalize minoritized groups. Therefore, a broad and holistic perspective helps inclusive leaders deal effectively with diversity-related challenges and issues to create a genuinely inclusive school culture.    (with Allan Walker and Darren A.
