#CleanEnergy 🚙 We are proud to team with Ford Motor Company for our Emergency Load Reduction Program (ELRP) and reward #ElectricVehicle customers for your help in supporting the grid. “The future of the two-way grid is now,” said Steven Powell, president and CEO of SCE. “The electric industry has been preparing infrastructure and systems to take advantage of vehicle-to-grid integration, and a lot of hard work on all sides is now making that a reality,” Powell said. The ELRP helps to make the grid more resilient by encouraging #EV drivers to send power from their car battery to the grid when it is needed most. Ford supports the ELRP through its California Power Response program. Coordinated actions by the automotive industry and utility companies continue to grow in importance as millions of electric vehicles enter the U.S. market. We gave up on chasing or being held to gas price 8 or more years ago and purchased a plug-in Hybrid. We have not paid attention to gas price in over 8 years. We can round trip to downtown LA on 4 gallons of gas and 5 gallons with the AC on. Placed Solar on the roof and it is charging the car right now.
That's very exciting! How does the ELRP program impact the cost of electricity for participating customers?

1moNice to see SCE continue the V2G program by partnering with Ford and SunRun (I suspect) who has previously installed the residential converter / controls / and energy storage. There's only a few EV's currently bi-directional (required to run V2G) with the Ford F-150 Lightning (depicted) and select 2023-2024 Tesla models. This program should segway nicely with the new state V2G legislation expected to be mandated a % of EV;s be bi-directional by 2027. https://www.utilitydive.com/news/california-electric-vehicle-ev-to-grid-battery-capacity/726319/
