Exciting news for NSW councils! 📽️ I've just completed an industry-first induction video for welcoming new staff to the local government sector. This resource showcases the unique benefits of working in local government, how unions support council employees, and key conditions negotiated by LGNSW and the unions. This project was a true collaborative effort. Six months in the making, the project brought together three councils, three local government unions, a marketing agency and yours truly to create an engaging video for our member councils. Want to see what we've created? Check it out 👇 #CareersAtCouncil #LocalGovernment #ContentCreation #VideoProduction

Attention construction industry professionals! A recent Supreme Court ruling clarifies the scope of cess payments under the Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Cess Act, 1996 ( BOCW Act). The Court has ruled that the cess does not apply to the cost of equipment and its installation related to construction work. What does this mean for you? Contractors are no longer liable to pay cess on costs associated with equipment and its installation. This clarifies the taxable base, making cess calculations more precise. Key Takeaway: Focus on the core construction activities when determining your cess payment. Niklas Andersen, Flemming Larsen and I have contributed with at chapter in Handbook on Measuring Governance https://lnkd.in/dJhbgDzU In our chapter, we first identify the most important methods and measures of performance within the area of active labour market policies (ALMP) and show how these measures have been shaped by policymakers’ continual drawing and redrawing of the boundaries between welfare and work. We then discuss the most important political and administrative consequences of these developments, before ending the chapter by highlighting the main challenges currently facing the performance measurements of ALMPs. Thanks to Peter Triantafillou and Jenny Lewis for excellent editing.

In line of knowledge sharing In any establishment if there is employment of 10 Or more building workers for any building work or construction work for any (even for 1 week) day during financial year.. then such establishment has to register itself under Building and other construction workers (regulation of employment and conditions of service) act 1996 within 60 days of this applicability. This BOCW act 1996 is special act other than factories act for regulating employment and conditions of service of building and construction workers and for providing them safety, health and welfare measure. #Law #BOCW Act, #Compliances.

Did you know! The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, is a significant legislation in India that ensures the protection and rights of contract workers. It requires establishments and contractors to register, mandates fair wages and working conditions, and empowers the government to prohibit or abolish contract labor in specific situations. This Act plays a vital role in safeguarding contract workers from exploitation and promoting their welfare. #LabourLaw #ContractLabourAct #IndianLegislation #WorkerRights #HRPolicies #EmployeeWelfare #DidYouKnow

AGSM MBA (Executive) | Major Capital Projects Advisory | Making Complex Things Simple | Project Turn Arounds and Performance Improvement | Construction Industry Transformation |
THE SHERIFF CAME TO TOWN AND INDUSTRY CHANGED THEIR BEHAVIOUR! Thanks David Chandler OAM (Dave) for providing my generation with a platform to drive transformation, make our construction industry better and bring modern professionalism back into our industry. What was achieved by yourself and a small team speaks volumes, especially when compared to what the UK have achieved since Grenfell with 2000 public servants working overtime. Importantly in 2019 you presented 6 pillars of reform. You've stuck to these strategic reform pillars without diluting the mission! There is much fanfare regarding iCIRT and DLI which are pinnacles of your achievements to bring trust back to the consumer. However looking past these we need to acknowledge the important scientific research undertaken by the Office of the NSW Building Commission (now Building Commission NSW) which includes data driven evidence on: 1. The importance of embodied carbon. Reducing embodied carbon is implicit with funding requirements for future projects developed / built by our industry. 2. Digital literacy and maturity of the industry. Your data showed we have just began the digitisation journey and we are far away from the holy grail of digitalisation. 3. Giving a voice to many proud industry players that have help bring to the surface what good looks like in their specialised field. These voices are establishing the "recognised" standards for the industry and holding certifiers accountable. It was a pleasure working with you and your team over the last 5 years. The Building Assurance Solution (BAS) was a real highlight! Watch this space as products confirming who did what, and when will be the next big thing to allow DLI to scale across our state of NSW and further throughout the nation. Congrats on what you achieved. Best of luck on the next chapter. Hopefully we’ll continue to see your Sunday posts, perhaps even featuring some great catches from your fishing ventures. Go well! #nomoremascots #consumerrights #CIOB #modernprofessional #constructionmanagement #constructionindustry #buildingcommissionnsw #valuesandethics 📷Daily Telegraph
