Savills rainbow laces campaign for Pride Month 2024 has seen employees across the UK from Southampton to Aberdeen raise over £2,000 for our chosen LGBTQ+ charity partner Albert Kennedy Trust. "Hundreds of pairs of rainbow laces have been purchased by colleagues participating in 5k runs and walks. AKT supports young LGBTQ+ people facing homelessness and is an extremely worthwhile cause, which I am delighted that Savills has been able to contribute to." - Jonathan Stott Director Central London Retail and chair of the Savills LGBTQ+ network. #SavillsPride #Pride #PrideMonth #AlbertKennedyTrust

June marks Pride Month, a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities worldwide. The fact that we celebrate in June is not insignificant - it coincides with the date of the 1969 Stonewall riots, widely credited as the catalyst of the Queer Liberation movement. Many countries have made great strides towards LGBTQ+ equality - but this has not been a globally consistent, or linear, path. Many Queer people are still subject to immense discrimination and injustice, and many Governments have or are seeking to introduce legislation which will roll back some of the progress that has been made towards equality - including in some of OC&C’s geographies. It is for this reason that we commemorate Pride - to celebrate the progress we have made as a society, but also to raise awareness of the inequality and discrimination LGBTQ+ people face daily. At OC&C, we look forward to hearing from our colleagues and clients about their journeys as LGBTQ+ people, and fundraising for our charity partner Just Like Us as well as other charities. Being an LGBTQ+ ally is about helping to create an inclusive environment where everyone can be themselves. The most recent data from the Stonewall ‘LGBT in Britain Work Report’, found that 35% of LGBTQ+ staff have hidden that they are LGBTQ+ at work, for fear of discrimination. Concerns about being treated differently keep many from being out at work, but allyship increases comfort in being out. Here are some ways you can be a better ally to LGBTQ+ community at work👇 ❤️ Listen 🧡 Educate yourself 💛 Be visible in support 💚 Be mindful about “outing” 💙 Avoid assumptions 💜 Challenge homophobia 💗 Support LGBTQ+ charities 🖤 Uplift marginalised voices To donate to Stonewall Housing, you can do so via our Just Giving link here: https://lnkd.in/ehUQn2NQ Stonewall Housing are the leading charity in the UK, supporting LGBTQ+ people experiencing homelessness or living in unsafe environments. #ProudToBePRIMIS

Some good news as we head into the final weekend of Pride month: Funders for LGBTQ Issues has reported that Tides Foundation is the fifth-largest funder of LGBTQ issues in the United States! We're also the 4th-largest funder of LGBTQ issues by number of grants. Other takeaways from Funders for LGBTQ Issues' report: ➡️ Funding for trans communities from foundations increased by 34%, a result of strategic philanthropic organizing efforts that ramped up in response to a surge in legal and policy attacks on trans lives. ➡️ For the first time, a majority of grants from U.S. foundations were general operating support grants—vital for ensuring that LGBTQ organizations can function sustainably in the long term. ➡️ Funding to Black LGBTQ communities doubled from 7% to 14%, although total overall funding for LGBTQ communities of color decreased. 📢 Empowering LGBTQIA+ Voices Against Hate 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Did you know that only 1 in 8 hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals in the UK are reported? It's time to change that, and the Zoteria app is here to help. I'm proud (yup, that is me and my dear friend Ajay Pabial 🏳️🌈 on set back in March) to support Stonewall UK's latest initiative, Zoteria. This discreet and powerful app is making a real difference in combating hate crimes against the LGBTQ+ community 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️ Why Zoteria matters: • 𝗔𝗻𝗼𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆: Zoteria prioritizes user privacy, making it a safe space to report incidents without fear of being outed. • 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Each report contributes to valuable data that helps advocate for policy changes and better support services. • 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Zoteria empowers individuals to take action and be part of the solution in combating hate crimes. In a world where hate crimes against LGBTQ+ individuals are still far too common, Zoteria is a crucial step towards a safer and more inclusive society. 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗭𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 and let your voice be heard. App links 📲 in the comments. #Zoteria #Stonewall #LGBTQIA
Happy Pub Pride! The night where venues celebrate their local LGBTQ+ community, and welcome Pride month in their hometown 🌈 Our Zoteria app will feature in pubs across the UK from Friday 31 May to Sunday 2 June. Pub Pride was started 4 years ago by @AskforClive, a charity that partners with venues to promote inclusion and to create welcoming environments for the LGBTQ+ community. We are so excited to partner with Ask for Clive this year to help ensure that everybody has a great night out 📱📱 Look out for Zoteria in your local pub, or find a Pub Pride event to attend in the app https://bit.ly/3HW9JTg
