As we approach National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we want to pause to reflect on the experiences of Indigenous communities and the role we play in honouring their invaluable contributions 🧡 There is a framework in many Indigenous communities called the holistic view. As stated in the Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework, it views a whole person - through spirit, heart, mind and body - as interconnected, and that all of life is equal. This framework is so impactful, as it acts as a reminder of the importance of community, and that learning is a lifelong process. As we work to advocate for and uplift self-identifying women, non-binary and trans-femme entrepreneurs, we recognize that true progress comes from embracing community. This means taking the time to learn, listen and amplify the Indigenous Elders, leaders and organizations around us. We’re striving towards deepening our understanding of Indigenous perspectives and creating a safe space for unlearning and progress. We hope you are taking time to reflect today, and we wish those who are part of Indigenous communities a day of healing and rest.
