In our SEO’s team recent UK Search Award win for ‘Best Local Campaign’, the judges highlighted how the strategic use of PR contributed to the success of the campaign🏆 Often within the digi PR and SEO community, the value of regional coverage and links is questioned. They’re usually nofollow, sometimes syndicated - attributes that traditional SEOs would typically dismiss. However, I am a huge believer in the power of effective regional / local digital PR and the value of these links. Why? Because I’ve seen their direct impact on clients’ visibility and audience engagement across pretty much every sector, from automotive to health. But the key is that regional digital pr activity needs to be strategic - achieving ‘X’ number of links isn’t enough. You need to be: ✅ Sharing quality content that’s of interest, and ideally directly relevant, to the publication and its audience ✅ Leveraging the fact that journalists at regional publications are often more willing to add in PLP links, or links with non-branded anchor text ✅ Harnessing these publications’ social presence and active communities ✅ Reviewing the impact of regional coverage, both on visibility and brand engagement, to inform your outreach strategy going forward.
