PASSION IN THE AEROSPACE AND DEFENSE My passion in the Aerospace and Defense Industry began when I was 10 years old. I started by building model aircrafts and read magazines and materials on the subject. Over time, my interest in military technology and history developed as I found more information on the subject matter in due course of my study. The nearest I get to join the industry was when I worked at Frost & Sullivan, looking at the industry from a third party perspective. This is not the same as working directly in a company belonging to the industry, where one can get useful hands on experience on what things are really like, besides being intimate with the micro and macro overview. I am very keen to know about the strengths, weaknesses advantages and threats facing companies in the industry. In Malaysia, I actively monitor the industry supply chain, that spans across Design, Manufacturing & Assembly, MRO, Systems Integration, General Aviation, and Defense. I closely follow on the various weapon systems for the Navy, Army, and Air Force, comprising of research & development, weapon systems trials, manufacturing, and in service utilisation by the armed forces. My interest also encompasses Airlines & Airports and homeland security, gaining insights into the protection of key installations in the country. In the post-COVID-19 era, I track strategies employed by full-service and budget airlines, as well as airports globally, to regain profitability. I regularly attend Aerospace and Defense exhibitions, and also participate in local and international forums to exchange knowledge and insights with other experts. I am now 54 years old and I do wonder if I will ever get the chance to join this very dynamic and exciting industry instead of looking at it from the outside as have always been the case. My background is in the area of Business Development in which I have both the Bachelors and Masters degree. But still my hopes run high and I am not giving up on my endeavor to join the industry. Hopefully someone can assist me in this for which I will be very grateful. The online grocery delivery market is poised for significant growth, with a projected increase of 21.6% by 2028, reaching 211.6 million users in Africa. Additionally, African countries are projected to experience an average GDP growth of 3.5% in 2024, surpassing the USA's projected growth rate of 2.1%. It's surprising when some investors express concern about our future plans (not having American/ European presence) and overlook African potential. Africa is a powerhouse of opportunity!
