From Higher Education to Aiher Education 😌.. Here is my observation - instead of our students and lecturers engaging in the learning and teaching process, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has taken over at both ends of the teaching and learning spectrum. Lecturers are over-reliant on AI to generate course outlines, content and assessments, and students are over-reliant on AI for their assignments and exams. Lecturers then rely on AI to assess the AI submissions 🤣.. Students receive AI feedback and then feed the AI agent the feedback to enhance future submissions. Who exactly is benefiting from this Aiher Education of today?? AI should be a productivity enhancer, meaning we need to define productivity in higher education. I am not anti-Ai. However, the disruption caused by AI (Generative model) in higher education is intense. The higher education vision, mission, and goals need to be redefined in this AI age. #AiherEducation #HigherEducation #ArtificialIntelligence #EducationalTechnology

Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool that significantly enhances decision-making across various sectors, including education. Its ability to streamline processes, offer predictive insights, and provide personalized experiences is undeniable. However, like any tool, AI is not infallible and should not be relied upon blindly. ⚙️🧠 Many educational institutions have recently started using AI in college admissions, promising efficiency gains and innovative application tools. While the benefits are enticing, we must pause and consider the potential pitfalls. 🎓💻 Let's be clear: AI cannot replace the human element. Our understanding of nuances, empathy with others, and informed decision-making are unique to us. We cannot outsource these abilities to an algorithm. AI can support us, but it should never make the final call. 🧑🎓🤖 We must also consider the potential risks when our well-intended list of requirements unintentionally results in a negative outcome. An AI tool might streamline the application process but fail to capture a student's potential or unique qualities. The risk of perpetuating biases and creating inequalities is real and should not be underestimated. 💼💡 Related https://smpl.is/92aza #AIinEducation #EdTech #HigherEducation #EthicalAI #Axlebot Image 'AI s College Admission Marathon' by DALL-E.

Recently, I had the opportunity to tune in a seminar organized by Mediterranean College titled "Artificial Intelligence and Education". Hearing opinions first and foremost from the educators themselves about the impact that AI has on education was very enlightening and extremely interesting. Though it has been established that the potential of AI as a tool is unfathomable, we often forget that the most important factor in the equation "technology-humans" is, in fact, the human one. Therefore, governments, and the education sector specifically, need to focus on how to introduce AI in the classroom in a way that is productive for both the students and the educators themselves. The role of the educator is shifting and changing drastically with the emergence of AI, and will continue to change as new technologies appear. That's why it's important for the system of education to be updated in such a way that educators can respond to the growing usage of AI. We should shift our focus on teaching students how to use it productively, as a way of enhancing their learning experience. Forming a legal frame to follow the usage of AI is also necessary, to avoid issues such as overlooking copyrights when citing someone else's work. No matter who you ask, the conversation of AI is long, but a very important one. We need to be reminded by the very people it affects of how it needs to be used in a way that we don't loose grasp of the fact that it is, at the end of the day, a tool meant to help us achieve our highest potential as people. Thank you to Mediterranean College for organizing this seminar, as well as to all the educators and specialists that joined and shared their opinions and experiences! #ai #education #aitechnology #technology
