Happy New Month Everyone. It is a new day and a new month of this year that will never come again. So surprising how time flies. Reminiscing, we can all remember celebrating New Year not long, like it was yesterday. Now it is June. The first half of year 2024 is coming to an end. I hope and pray that all our prayers and expectations will be met in this new month. Today, I implore you to take a short period of time out of your busy schedule to brood. Think of the past months and be grateful for both the little achievements and bourgeois ones. Remember being grateful is the access to more blessings and opportunities. Also do not forget to gauge yourself. Ask yourself thought provoking questions like; - How well have I developed myself within these past months? - What have I learnt that will sharpen my understanding? - How have I made impact on others etc. Ask yourself these questions. They are yardsticks you will use to measure yourself and know your prowess. Remember, Time Waits For No One. Once again, Happy New Month. Ngozi ✍️✍️.

February is an exciting and festive month for me, brimming with fresh starts and joyful celebrations! It's not just the beginning of a new year, but also the time to commemorate my anniversary and birthday where I celebrate all the wonderful moments, achievements, and growth that I've experienced over the past year. As I reflect on the journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the lessons learned, the challenges overcomed, and the joys shared. Celebrating my 2-year anniversary at Total Life today 🥂   2 years ago my family and I moved from Whangarei 1,789.3 km to the deep South of NZ - Invercargill.   Since hubby and I got married we had a goal to buy a 🏡, we had tried 3 previous times but for a multitude of reasons it never worked out.   2021 Post Covid many Aucklanders moved up North pricing us out of the market. We knew if we didn’t make big moves nothing was going to change.   We moved as far South as we could into a town with houses that we could afford.   Reflecting on the last two years at a high-level overview ◽ March 2022 I began in an administrative role & started my studies to become an adviser ◽ January 2023 Completed New Zealand Certificate Level 5 in Financial Services – Life, Health & Disability Strand ◽ March 2023, we purchased our first house ◽ March 2023 become a qualified Financial Adviser ◽ November 2023 Completed New Zealand Certificate in Te Reo Māori (He Pī Ka Pao) Level 1 & 2 An American mentor I had, once said… “The hardest battle you’ll ever face is a 6-inch battle and he placed a finger on either side of his head.” In short, the biggest challenge you face in achieving your dreams is yourself. If nothing changes, nothing changes.

Today sees the start of a new season. After 30 years in Brisbane and 12 years with RPS, we have moved from Brisbane to Yeppoon. Three things I’ve learnt as a result of the decision to start something new: 1. Just because a decision makes you sad, that doesn’t mean it’s the wrong decision. 2. Every new season in your life demands a new version of you. 3. No matter what, be grateful for today. Good days will give you happiness. Bad days give you experience. The worst day gives you a lesson. The best day gives you a memory.

Whatever sector we're in, it's often said that we neglect the very thing we help others with, either in ourselves or in our business. So too for us at Heartward. We may have spent most of our adult lives exploring for our clients how to communicate to greatest effect, or how to ensure external representations match the original intent, but as small business people, our own business can get left behind. Too much time working in the business, rather than on it. To celebrate our 5th birthday and our 6th year of operation, we are currently refreshing the way we show ourselves to the outside world. Its time. After navigating COVID only 14 months after we started, it's time. After having our heads down to grow our business, it's time. After evolving and finessing what we do, it's time. Time to grow up a little. To value our own organisation as much as we value the wonderful work of the organisations we work with. Who better to partner with us on this again, than the talented Zoë Scott :) And it starts with a refreshed colour palette. We've dropped one colour and added two. Given what’s happening in the world, granted this may seem surface, flippant even. But if you are going to run a business, it’s hard work, but it can be fun too. Goodness knows we all need some fun. Beyond A-Mazing - the highs and lows of this job can be difficult to explain and often people (candidates and clients) don't value the role of a professional Consultant enough - to receive the recognition and appreciation is often under-rated in this industry. Thankful Thursday Vibes 🌟 I absolutely love the first day back in the office after traveling to our partner sites or leading one of our public training events. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s because I kick off my day by writing thank you notes to the AMAZING humans who made my travels smooth and successful—those behind the scenes handling logistics and the onsite team members who ensure everything runs seamlessly. It's a team effort, and reflecting on how grateful I am for all of them infuses my day with positivity and gratitude. The day doesn't stop there, though. I challenge myself to catch up on emails and voicemails before leaving the office. I find pockets of time between meetings to focus on those who have patiently awaited my response. The positivity from the morning fuels my energy cup, enabling me to close out the day completely caught up on communications, setting the tone for a successful rest of the week. I encourage you to consider how you spend your first day back after time away. Even if you were on a personal vacation, there's likely someone who kept things moving in your absence. Start your day back with a thank you card, reflecting on how much you appreciate the amazing team that holds everything together so you can recharge. On this Thankful Thursday, I challenge you to grab a thank you card and send it to someone who has positively impacted your life. Let's spread gratitude and positivity together! 💌✨

OTA is proud to celebrate its 20th Anniversary. We are grateful for the clients and partners who have supported our team throughout our journey and become our lifelong friends! Here are 6 lessons I have learned from my experience running OTA for the past 20 years and that I try to live by. 1) Surround yourself with people whose company you enjoy and whom you respect and trust. Life is all about relationships and the company you keep. Be discerning. 2) Never ever procrastinate. Those who live by: “put off today what you can do tomorrow” are mistaken. Instead, zero in on the tasks at hand and complete them with a sense of urgency. Have a “don’t just talk about it” mindset. Get it done! 3) Take calculated risks. Always be on the look out for new opportunities. This may require extra thought and creativity and could lead you out of your comfort zone. But, risks can be rewarding. And if they don’t work out, but you gave it your all, you’ll have learned a lot. 4) Never give up. When a plan doesn’t unfold the way you wanted, you can cry in your soup for a few minutes, but then change your course and persevere. We all experience straight up bad days, weeks, and even years (as once told to me by my kids’ pediatrician). But remember that tomorrow is a new day that brings with it fresh possibilities. Nothing can replace a positive attitude. 5) Have fun and laugh a lot always. Life is not about finding the treasure at the rainbow’s end. It’s about enjoying the ride on the rainbow. Make sure you take the ride with those people who unconditionally love every crazy little thing about you. That journey will sustain you in the long run. 6) Help others. Show your gratitude for your own comforts by finding ways to be generous and kind to people in need. Your acts of kindness will bring you the most meaning and happiness to your life. We are excited about what’s to come for OTA in the next decades. Although the digital age is upon us, there will always be a need for live and in-person engagements to keep us connected as humans. You’re missing out on the support you deserve because you’re searching for support you’ll never get 🙅🏽♀️ As we celebrate our one year anniversary, I am reminded of just how amazing my husband is. He attends ALL of my presentations and performances, encourages me when I’m feeling down, pushes me to do better when I’m being lazy, and he always has my back. Before him, I looked to my job for that support. While sometimes it worked out, way too often was I left hurt and disappointed. You know why? Because I wasn’t letting my job just be my job. I was trying to get it to fill a role in my life that my contract never stipulated. Double check your contract… unless you see it explicitly stated that your job will support and fulfill you, stop expecting that. Sis… it’s ok to take a step back and find your support and fulfillment outside of your job. It doesn’t mean you can’t still operate in excellence, it just means that you’re actively choosing to live a life that is not dictated by how your day at work went. It’s time for you to start thriving, not just surviving.
