This month, we’re excited to showcase Merlin Plastics Supply Inc., a valued member of the RCA! Merlin Plastics is a recycler and processor of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic packaging. A new workplace recycling law comes into effect on 6 April. From tomorrow, businesses will need to separate recyclable materials such as card and paper, cartons, plastic and more. Imagine the Great Lakes with no refreshing swims, no serene beach walks, no vibrant ecosystems to explore due to plastic pollution. This isn't just a hypothetical scenario—it's a real danger we're working tirelessly to prevent. Today is the first day of spring, which means our Adopt-a-Beach cleanups are about to kick off. Every year, I’m inspired by our volunteers who remove literally tons of litter –about 85% of which is plastic – from our Great Lakes beaches. They also help collect vital data that informs the fight against plastic pollution.
