Narrow outlook - Narrow definitions Corporates look for your tenure in previous organizations, and calculate and judge consistency, based on the length of tenure. This is what they call 'Consistency'. What they do not consider though, is the quality of roles, value added to the business, differences created by individual contribution, and changes introduced to enhance business value by creating a value differentiator. If these have been achieved in all the past roles, that is being consistent. You cannot educate the ignorant. #corporateviews #narrowoutlook #corporateworld #venkyvibes

Today’s #employees are #investors. They invest their energy and talents in exchange for a return – purpose, growth, and yes, a #paycheck that reflects their worth. How Culture and DEI Can Help You Save Money and Talent 💡 In today’s competitive business landscape, retaining top talent and managing costs are crucial. Did you know that fostering a strong culture and committing to DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) can be key strategies in achieving both? Here’s how: Boost Retention: A positive workplace culture and genuine DEI efforts create an environment where employees feel valued and included, leading to higher retention rates and lower turnover costs. Enhance Productivity: When employees are engaged and respected, they’re more motivated and productive. A supportive culture can drive innovation and efficiency, reducing operational costs. Attract Top Talent: Companies known for their inclusive culture attract diverse talent pools, giving you access to a wider range of skills and perspectives that drive success. Reduce Legal Risks: Proactively addressing DEI can help avoid costly legal issues related to discrimination or bias, saving money on potential litigation and compliance fines. Improve Reputation: A strong commitment to culture and DEI enhances your brand’s reputation, making it easier to forge partnerships and appeal to customers who value ethical practices. By investing in a positive culture and DEI initiatives, MNCs can not only save money but also build a resilient, motivated workforce that drives long-term success. In a dynamic response to the various pressures facing McKinsey & Company Global Managing Partner Bob Sternfels orchestrated a spirited gathering in Copenhagen earlier this month aimed at boosting morale among partners. Amidst ongoing layoffs and a challenging period marked by political backlash and industry slowdowns, Sternfels' approach was notably unconventional, blending serious corporate discussions with the energizing beats of #Eminem, #BobMarley, and #Chumbawamba. At the internal event, Sternfels used music as a tool to uplift spirits a strategy reflecting his intent to turn the page on the firm's recent tumultuous times. The choice of music, including Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping," with its themes of persistence and recovery, a message of resilience and collective tenacity. This approach aimed not only to lighten the mood but also to symbolize the firm's readiness to confront and rise above its challenges. The gathering also served as a platform for open dialogue, with Sternfels encouraging partners to voice concerns and engage actively in discussions about the firm's direction and values. This open-call for engagement suggests a shift towards transparency and collaborative problem-solving at a time when unity within the firm is crucial. McKinsey faces not just internal restructuring but also external pressures, including scrutiny over its consultancy roles with controversial global entities and its involvement in the opioid crisis in the United States. Reassuring his colleagues about the value of their professional development within the firm, Sternfels emphasized that McKinsey aims to offer unparalleled growth and learning opportunities—arguably a strategic move to retain talent during uncertain times. He also highlighted the firm's ongoing commitment to helping organizations tackle significant challenges, reinforcing McKinsey's foundational mission. The meeting's logistics also mirrored the firm's broader commitment to sustainability, encouraging the use of electric taxis and bicycles. This detail highlights McKinsey's integration of environmental considerations into its operational practices. Additionally, the firm's global reach and influence were evident in its co-sponsorship of a major event featuring prominent global figures, underscoring its continued prominence in the business world despite current challenges. Bob Sternfels' strategy to integrate motivational music into a critical meeting reflects an innovative approach to leadership during challenging times. By fostering an atmosphere of openness and resilience, Sternfels is not only addressing current morale issues but is also setting a tone for recovery and future success. As McKinsey navigates through this pivotal period, the firm's ability to maintain unity and drive amidst adversity will be crucial to its sustained leadership in the consulting t
