VTT Global was proud to participate in the 'National Dialogue on Reshaping and Realigning TVET Sector for a Resilient Economy', organized by NAVTCC. During the dialogue, we engaged in a group discussion on 'Economics of TVET-Supply Driven to Demand Driven'. Our focus was twofold: Nationally, we advocated for an advisory body linking TVET, the Chamber of Commerce, and industry sectors to tailor education to market needs, ensuring the graduates are ready for employment. We also stressed the importance of practical internships for real-world readiness. Internationally, we pushed for the necessity of certifications, enhancing the global recognition and mobility of the TVET graduates. 🧑🏭🚀The 𝐄𝐁𝐀 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 members gathered for a working meeting at the USAID Economic Governance Program office. 🔹The primary objective of the meeting was to summarize implemented projects such as vocational education service as well as youth empowerment and internship programs; pinpoint the primary obstacles faced by companies due to the current skills mismatch within the labor market based on the direct experiences of EBA member companies, as well as insights from the European Business Climate Report 2023 and the EU Commission Enlargement Report on Georgia. 🔍Parties initiated several activities and campaigns to be implemented in 2024 and also agreed on a future communication strategy🤝

All-In Cincinnati is actively executing our 5-year strategic plan, currently, 90% complete, focusing on the PAYING aspect as a crucial part of our youth advocacy efforts mentioned in the March City Council Meeting. This push for paid internships and apprenticeship programs is in the #economicmobility strategies outlined in our plan. We aim to provide young Black girls in Hamilton County with the necessary resources for their growth and success. Our Immediate Goal: We’re actively seeking partnerships with local community organizations and business owners who offer paid internships and apprenticeship programs. Our focus is on creating tangible opportunities that not only provide financial support but also nurture the potential and aspirations of our young Black girls. New in The Journal of Child Life: Child Life Internship Readiness: Perspectives of Child Life Academics Brittany Wittenberg Camp, PhD, CCLS, CFLE, Kathryn Cantrell, PhD, CCLS, Cara Sisk, PhD, CCLS Child life academics and internship coordinators and supervisors are vital stakeholders in the student-to-professional pipeline because both perform unique roles in supporting students pursuing a child life career. This is the first study on child life internship readiness from the perspectives of child life academics. The results and discussion from this survey with child life academic professionals add to the conversation about the profession’s expectations for internship readiness. Study findings showcase the increasing delays and difficulties students experience obtaining a child life internship. Improved awareness, communication, and collaboration between these groups would be a strong first step in addressing the profession’s need to improve the documented job crisis in child life.
