Last week, I drove to Cornwall to be on-site with Vision Nine’s operations team during the last stages of the Boardmasters’ build.
We have all seen the news reports about what happened on-site on Friday, August 9 so it’s only right that the Boardmasters’ team are left to digest what happened. Any event professional will know that the debrief sessions to follow will be intense and draining.
Stories are beginning to emerge from people present at the festival so rather than finger-point and make assumptions, let’s leave the team to get on with the task at hand and when they are ready, I am sure that lessons will be learned and shared.
What I do want to say is whilst on-site I witnessed nothing but passion and professionalism.

The interview took place before the festival opened its gates so the comments reflect this. Hence, there is no mention of the crowd surge.

As I am a learner and exploring the variety of jobs in the market, this is what type of environment I am searching for and I think every young jobseeker also looks for the same cause it's not always about Money🤑, As some of us at this stage might get so busy in corporate world and also, loose college or school friends. Honestly, It gets too frustrating at some point, All I have experienced till yet is finding a good workplace is so Difficult & Necessary too for our Well- being & It is what matters, Working Overtimes & on Holidays even without any extra benefit can be so demotivating, In return, Atleast we can expect an attractive environment to keep ourselves emotionally attached with the workplace & for better productivity!

My opinion…if you need 16 or more people to put on a simple Manitoba Room Gala, you must be lazy, show boating at the expense of the client, not very bright or like paying or NOT paying for people you don’t need. Rule of thumb in this business, 1 person per 2 breakout rooms 3 -4 max for large plenary room like the Manitoba Room or Large Convention Centre Room. If you have entertainment well that could add a couple of techs. We save our clients money by managing events efficiently and effectively.
