Guess where the San Diego Community Power team was yesterday... Here’s a hint: It’s got baseballs, bats and renewable energy. We were at Petco Park, the first MLB ballpark in the National League to be powered by 100% clean energy! We spent the afternoon rooting for the San Diego Padres – and for our Community Advisory Committee Chair, Matt Vasilakis, who threw the first pitch of the game. Go Padres! 🤎💛

Anyone that follows Trent Vandagriff often sees the superhuman feats of his “tough as nails” crew & you might wonder why there are all these pics of underground stuff being worked on. For public works folks this is eye candy on how this stuff should be done, but when you look at how much has been done & how far this group has come what you should see is great leadership and vision. The leadership and vision journey taken over the last 5 years is nothing short of a miracle (or a series of miracles) where the vision or resurrecting a poorly maintained system with a small minimally trained crew has turned into a great success and a fine tuned execution team led by Trent & his vision. While there is certainly more work ahead know that when you see more posts from Trent, it’s part of a much bigger vision. The execution of a well thought out plan, the development & training of staff, the growth of his budget to secure much needed resources to improve all of the systems, the constant & repeated recognition of his staff for consistently delivering top notch results, the importance of each of the incremental wins to the community, it is a lesson for all on “how to” ! Keep up the amazing effort Trent & team. You are an inspiration.
