A new water table is underway thanks to the generous support of the Escondido Community Foundation! This grant will allow us to give our current Water Ways exhibit a much-needed refresh while introducing families and little ones to the water cycle.
Escondido Community Foundation (ECF), a regional affiliate of San Diego Foundation, has awarded $212,000 to seven local nonprofits at its Annual Grants Award Celebration. “This year’s focus was on getting people outside and enjoying all that Escondido has to offer with structures designed to welcome, educate and protect our residents,” said Jan Jones, ECF board chair. “These grants will provide much-needed funds for our community organizations to build or revitalize community spaces.” Discover more about ECF and its impact: https://bit.ly/4eIfWkR #CommunityImpact #EscondidoCommunityFoundation

We are excited to participate in this year's Kids Free October! Throughout the month of October, kids ages 12 and under receive free admission to over 50 museums around San Diego County including our Museum. Kids Free October is a great program that allows access to hands-on programming that economically disadvantaged families may not get to explore normally for free! Thank you to Fallbrook Regional Health District for granting us the opportunity to bring our Mobile Children’s Museum to over 800 Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students in Fallbrook Union School District this fall! One TK teacher at Live Oak Elementary shared her excitement, saying, “My students absolutely loved all of the different activities! As a teacher, it was great to see them learning how to communicate with one another, problem solve, and practice fine and gross motor activities while also having a lot of fun in the process!” It is thanks to partnerships like these that we can provide amazing hands-on opportunities for students and teachers.

What a dazzling night! Our Ignite Their Spark event, on September 7, shimmered with the support of over 150 guests, all uniting to help light the way for children and families at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum. Together, we raised essential funds to support the hands-on exhibits and educational programs that make a difference across San Diego County. A huge thank you to our sponsors (PNC, U.S. Bank, Dr. Bronner's, Nan & Gery Katona, The AES Corporation, Buchalter, LINKSERV, Mae Therapy, San Diego Foundation, Alaska Airlines, and Edible San Diego) for making this evening possible! And thank you to Tangerine Tree Photography for capturing the night beautifully. Take a peek into the night's festivities: https://lnkd.in/gyaKa5cZ
