Unveiling the Power of Innovation at Hannover Messe 2024! 🚀 ... a short recap 😎 Who could imagine the German Mittelstand being this powerful? Only those unfamiliar with their true capabilities! The past three days at Hannover Messe 2024 were nothing short of spectacular. ⚡️ An Inspiration Hot Pot 1️⃣ Witnessed groundbreaking innovations 2️⃣ Met visionary leaders 3️⃣ Explored future tech trends This trade fair isn't just a gathering; it's the epicenter of global innovation. Walking through the halls, every corner buzzed with creativity and groundbreaking ideas. It's events like these that prove Germany is a beacon of inventive prowess! 🚀 A Special Personal Highlight I had the pleasure of meeting with the HERMES AWARD winner, SCHUNK - Hand in hand for tomorrow, and had an enlightening conversation with Benedikt Janßen 😎, Head of Global Sales & Portfolio Marketing. We discussed their latest innovations, challenges and how winning this prestigious award has transformed and challenged their entire team. True german 🇩🇪 heroes! #familyowned ⚡️Schunk's Award-Winning Innovation is based on that: The project "2D Grasping-Kit" was recognized by a high-caliber jury led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Hanselka, president of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. This application kit includes a camera with a lens, an industrial PC, AI software, and an application-specific gripper. The innovation lies in the generic, AI-based modeling of part variances and the transfer to a smaller training dataset, which reduces learning times for recognition. The user-friendly interface allows for the reliable handling of various randomly arranged parts from a conveyor belt, tray, or staging table – even under changing light, color, or background conditions. This makes it easier to automate recurring sorting or logistics tasks with little effort. 👋 Feeling inspired by the relentless drive of German innovators, I am reminded of the boundless potential when diverse minds come together. If you're seeking a surge of creativity and a glimpse into the future of technology, Hannover Messe is where you need to be. 💪 Connect and Innovate Let's bring this energy into our networks. Turning today's research into tomorrow's applications - together!
At ZEISS Group our ultimate focus is our customers. Any true innovation is about a solution to a customer problem, rather than about the technology you use to solve it. Understanding our customers is key to our success. 🚀 But true market disruptions are rarely found by asking your customers what they want. Quite often, radical changes to markets are enabled and inspired by radical technological change, which allow us to think about problems in a completely new way. 💡At the ZEISS Innovation Hub Dresden, we have made it our mission to pursue such technology-inspired innovation.💡 Starting from technological leaps and in close collaboration with expert partners in the field, we develop north stars of how these changes may impact ZEISS future markets and build strategies to brings these scenarios to life. Being part of the truly inspiring Dresden ecosystem, being able to regularly meet with our partners – even if it is just for lunch – makes this possible in a way classical collaborations cannot. To highlight our approach, our enthusiastic team, and our fabulous partnerships, we have produced a short video on what the Hub means to our partners and our team. Enjoy! Thanks to Rico Stein and team for the production of the video, and to Anne Wuttke, Tilman von Strauwitz, Carsten Werner, and Gianaurelio (Giovanni) Cuniberti for sharing what the Hub means to them.

Industry data ecosystems first need a platform for conversation! As we approach the end of April, buzzwords from the manufacturing industry will be everywhere at HANNOVER MESSE 2024 (22nd to 26th April): Business Networks, Manufacturing X, Catena X, Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, digital twins, among others. There couldn't be a better time for HANNOVER MESSE 2024 to discuss how today’s factory floors 🏭 can transform into connected digital ecosystems 🛰️☁️. This transformation requires not just technological integration but also open exchange about relevant data and processes among business partners and suppliers. Clarifying these buzzwords (and I’d love to discuss them with you at our booth E17 in hall 15) is key to this dialogue. I am utterly convinced of that. HANNOVER MESSE? We're not just attending; we're shaping the future. 🚀#HM24 Hagen Heubach Stefan Krauss Sven Denecken Julia White Dominik Mark Metzger Thomas Saueressig Daniel Huber Joern Keller Muhammad Alam Hahn Thomas Dirk Vielsaecker Ernst Stöckl-Pukall Nina Stock

With the dust settled from Hannover Messe 2024 and some time to gather our thoughts, ABI Research has put together a whitepaper on key takeaways from the show. Top highlights were: - 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀. "Siemens debuted the Sony headset announced at CES in January, showing engineers a glimpse into the benefits of collaborative immersive experiences. Rockwell Automation had a sneaky demo leveraging a yet-to-be-announced partnership with NVIDIA that uses digital twin data from Emulate3D for photorealistic 3D model creation." (Ryan Martin) - 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵. "A key theme during conversations at the show was how vendors and their customers can work together to scale digital transformation. Vendors and their partners need to be coalition builders so that solutions are championed from headquarters to local facilities." (Michael Larner) - 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄. "GenAI vendors are currently picking the low-hanging fruit of LLMs and have yet to venture past the point of a quick ROI for manufacturers. The build-out of pragmatic use cases for GenAI is not coming from a supplier capabilities standpoint, but rather directly from end-user requests". (James Iversen) From my perspective, software defined automation technology was a notable topic at the event. Siemens built on the 2023 announcement of its Virtual PLC by highlighting a successful deployment with Audi. Software Defined Automation's (the company) booth occupied a far more predominant space, boldly stating that manufacturers would inevitably adopt this technology and it was just a matter of time. Both Bosch Rexroth and Rockwell Automation have begun laying the framework of their virtual PLC solutions in the form of controller emulation software, with crtlX CORE Virtual and FactoryTalk Logix Echo, respectively. MES software had a great showing, really serving to take its place as the cornerstone of many manufacturer's digital transformation projects. Tulip Interfaces, Critical Manufacturing, Aegis Software Corporation, 42Q, Dassault Systèmes, Siemens Digital Industries Software, and iTAC Software AG's booths were amazing stops throughout the show to see the significant effect this technology is having on manufacturing operations. Finally, when it came to AI, a key note from me would be that there was a stark lack of conversation around cybersecurity at the event. Data security will be a critical element of many new GenAI deployments, and it was interesting to note that this was something that did not appear to be a primary talking point at most booths.
