Focusing on my PhD journey I've been reflecting on the 'connections' between technology and inclusive education practices....Let's consider how technology is used in learning environments. Connectivism is considered the learning theory of the digital age! It explores the thinking to learn effectively, educators should embrace the integration of multiple sources of information, social interaction, and digital mediums. #digitaleducation #inclusion #DEI #largescaleassessments #UPEI #UNB #UTT

Did you know that education is a powerful tool for social and economic development? It not only shapes minds but also fuels innovation and empowers individuals to create positive change. According to UNESCO, over 265 million children and adolescents worldwide are still out of school, highlighting the critical need for accessible education. In the digital era, technology plays an important role in making education more inclusive and accessible. Through digital platforms, students can access a wealth of knowledge, connect with global learning communities, and develop essential skills for the future. As we celebrate International Education Day, let's advocate for education that transcends boundaries, embraces diversity, and ensures a brighter future for all. As we celebrate the International Day of Education on January 24th, let's take a moment to appreciate the transformative power of #STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. STEM is not just a collection of subjects; it's a passport to the future, preparing the next generation of innovators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers in the #semiconductorindustry and beyond. 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲. This underscores the importance of investing in STEM #education today to ensure we have a well-prepared and diverse STEM workforce tomorrow. UCT commits to doing its part in promoting STEM education, inspiring our youth, and driving global progress. On this International Day of Education, themed "learning for lasting peace", let's remember that education, particularly in STEM, plays a crucial role in breaking boundaries between cultures and countries, and maintaining peace and equality.

Do you also feel the future needs more than just brilliant minds. We need innovators driven by empathy and environmental awareness, individuals who use their STEM skills to tackle global challenges. STEM education is uniquely positioned to foster these qualities..Here's how: 1. Problem-solving with purpose: By framing real-world challenges like climate change or social inequalities as design problems, STEM education encourages kids to not just solve, but to care about the impact of their solutions. 2. Empathy through collaboration: Collaborative projects foster understanding of diverse perspectives and the need for inclusive solutions. 3. Sustainability woven in: Integrating environmental awareness into curriculum empowers students to make mindful choices and design for a sustainable future. What are your thoughts? How can we further leverage STEM education to cultivate the next generation of responsible innovators? Share your ideas in the comments! #edgeutech #STEMeducation #sociallyresponsible #innovation #educationforgood

Excited to have confirmation this week on being accepted as a mentor for "Pay it Forward" with Generating Genius. I am passionate that as a country, as a planet, we really need talent in #STEM subjects now more than ever, with the challenges we have #economics, #sustainability and #pollutioncontrol . We need #TechnologyInnovation to drive us forward, and provide a planet where we can all live happy, healthy lives. But we might not know where true talent lies, until we help uncover, nurture and develop it. We cannot leave it to come only from the tried and tested parts of our society. Generating Genius looks to help those students in areas that are less affluent, and facilitated, to become more aware about the benefits studying STEM subject can give them personally, and thereby society as a whole. And it's not just about finding the next Einstein, Hawking, Noble, Fleming, Pasteur etc. but equipping people for a life in an increasing more technical world, where everyone has a contribution and everyone deserves to share in the reward. It's very much a win/win for all involved. https://lnkd.in/ef4VkDT5

🌟 Investing in Youth Education: Illuminating the Path to a Brighter Future 🌟 As we stride into the future, one truth remains resolute: the youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but the architects of a better world. In this era of rapid change and innovation, it's paramount that we prioritize education for our youth at all costs. Education is not merely a means to secure a job or climb the career ladder; it's the cornerstone upon which dreams are built, possibilities are explored, and potentials are realized. By empowering our youth with knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities, we equip them to navigate the complexities of the modern world and drive positive change. The future holds boundless opportunities, but it's imperative that we ensure every young mind is equipped to seize them. From STEM education to arts and humanities, from vocational training to entrepreneurship, we must provide diverse avenues for learning and growth. Investing in youth education isn't just a moral imperative; it's an investment in our collective future prosperity and well-being. It's about nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and creating a more equitable society where everyone has the chance to thrive. Let's join hands to champion education for our youth, because when we invest in their potential, we're investing in a future that's brighter than anything we could ever imagine. #YouthEducation #FutureLeaders #BrighterFuture #InvestInEducation #EmpowerYouth

We're missing out on countless potential Einsteins and Curies In half the world, brilliant minds slumber, unable to bring their inventive spirit to the table. As the researcher Max Roser powerfully argues, "Talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not." This means we are all losing out on ideas and innovations that could help solve humanity's greatest challenges. Tapping into the world's full innovation potential requires empowering people everywhere, especially younger generations, with access to quality education. #WorldYouthSkillsDay reminds us of the need for this, but also of the many challenges the way towards quality education for all is paved with. Without further steps, only one in six countries will achieve the United Nations #SDG education targets by 2030. Developed countries like Germany have a head start. Now we must lead the way in using that advantage to uplift others and act as a role model and catalyst. At the same time, we can't take our eye off continually strengthening education at home to ensure everyone has the opportunity to develop a fact-based world view and become an innovator. In particular, it takes greater efforts to foster science education. According to experts, only 25% of OECD first-year students take STEM subjects. On the other hand, there could be 50 million job openings for STEM positions worldwide by 2030. What can we do to make sure the map turns more and more purple? I believe we all must find our particular contribution within our scope. 👉 Scientists must be courageous enough to leave the beaten track. 👉 Businesses must demonstrate that knowledge, perseverance, and collaboration lead to innovation and progress. 👉 Governments and society must acknowledge the value of education and help make the education systems more accessible and future oriented. Kudos to Our World in Data for the graphic.
