Go to any commercial real estate trade or industry event. It can be brokers, lenders, landlords, architects, contractors, or all of the above, you name it…it doesnt matter. The small talk generally goes like this. Q: “How are you?” A: “It’s good to see you!” Or…. Q: “What’s going on? Are you staying busy?” A: “Yes. Staying busy. How about you?” There could be zero deals in a market, inflationary pressures, or tightening monetary policy yet everyone is glad to see one another and still staying busy.
