For lifestyle apparel, I love letting the clothing get the lighting, the scene consume the image, and letting the face be a 3rd photography priority focus. But in any shot where there is a face, you can assume the viewer sees it first and connects or disconnects because of it. If you have eye contact, you can't afford to choose a expression that doesn't convey what you want to convey. For me, Prada loses me every single time. Blank stares of "void" annoy me.
