Some ideas for our next live concert video production. We believe there are two approaches: 1. Pure Documentation: simply capturing everything happening at the concert. 2. Enhanced Documentation with Pre-production: Documenting the concert while also planning and pre-producing certain transitions and video features to elevate the final output. We prefer the second approach, involving some pre-production and collaboration with the artist to establish an art direction and key transitions. The best example has been Sfera Ebbasta live shows, where pre-planned shots and transitions were created to highlight important parts of the concert. This pre-production also allowed us to quickly edit and share the video within 24 hours after the concert. #VideoProduction #CrupiStudio

What are the crucial skills?

Some of the most practical tips I've ever received about evaluating my video-format work with an accessibility lens were this: 1. Play your video with your eyes closed - do you still understand what's going on? 2. Next, play the video with your ears covered - do you still understand what's going on? This was part of my mental checklist before I approved anything in post-production and once things were uploaded in the digital space. Small actions we can take that make a big difference for a lot of people. This is something I feel would be relevant for live theatre and makes me wonder how many theatres have closed captioning and audio description devices available for their audience.

I'm fully supportive of the subscription model, showing the importance of the fan-to-dollar ratio. It's crucial for artists to understand how to create value for their fans through their art and beyond. The film industry provides a great model for this: a movie debuts in theaters, moves to premium services like HBO, then broadcasts on cable channels such as TNT, and eventually becomes available for free on networks like FOX or ABC. This model has adapted well to the digital age, with films rotating through platforms from Netflix to MAX to HULU to TUBI. In the music industry, indie artists can learn from this approach. By offering their art at different levels of access over time, they can build a sustainable income stream. At 24/7 Artists, we teach this strategy, encouraging artists to embrace the power of ownership.
