Chick-fil-A is not my favorite meal choice, but it is one of my favorite meal destinations, and here is why. I was rounding the drive-through one recent evening and caught an old obscure song on my car radio. My window was down, and the young man taking my order started singing it word for word. His joy was contagious, and it made me feel “connected.” Chick-fil-A knows how to hire people who can connect. Accordingly, people who know their “why,” as in “why am I here,” make their organizations better. For example, most school custodians do not have "Direction Giver" as part of their written job description. But that custodian who cheerfully not only tells but shows those lost parents where they need to go, undoubtedly makes the organization better. TrustDALE-certified companies excel at hiring people who know their “why,” and therefore go above and beyond to connect. Another reason to TrustDALE! #chickfilA #trustdale #deepthoughts #dalecardwell #knowyourwhy #contagiousjoy #connected

What a way to begin #womenshistorymonth! 🎉 We are beyond ecstatic about this partnership... read the caption below to learn more ⬇ #Partnershipsmatter #Forallwhowishtolearn
We are excited to share news of our partnership with The Slate Denver, Tapestry Collection by Hilton! Formerly the iconic Emily Griffith building, this historic gem has been beautifully transformed into a modern masterpiece, all while preserving its charming schoolhouse essence. 📚 Paying homage to Emily Griffith herself, they've even named their restaurant The Teacher's Lounge Food & Drink! But here's the best part: For every delicious bowl of soup sold at the Teacher's Lounge, $1 goes towards supporting the students and programs at Emily Griffith Technical College. 🥣 What makes this partnership even more special? Well, Emily Griffith herself used to whip up hearty soups for her students daily, a tradition that continues to inspire us to this day. Join us in celebrating this wonderful collaboration and enjoy a bowl of soup with a side of history at the Slate Hotel's Teacher's Lounge! #CommunityPartnership #SupportEducation #SoupForACause #opportunity #emilygriffithfoundation #denver #colorado

We are excited to serve you, Saratoga Springs! We signed our lease and began the planning process over 26 months ago. At times I loathed the wait, but am now realizing that all of the wait was worth it. It provided time to complete Lehi Bakery Main Street construction, plan our operations strategy, and (most importantly) develop our people to set the store up for success. I couldn’t be more proud of our team from top to bottom who all contributed insights, training, and the much needed willingness to do anything and everything outside their formal job descriptions. There dreaded words “that’s not my job” have never been uttered. Our team always does whatever it takes. The proudest part of today is that I get to call my friend, Jeff, the leader and manager of the store. He is a Saratoga Springs resident, and has developed from an entry-level donut fryer into a store manager. The people development process is the reason why this career is starting to feel more and more like a calling. If today’s opening wasn’t enough reason to celebrate and reflect, it is worth mentioning that we also received unanimous final city council approval from Cedar Hills last night for what will become Lehi Bakery #3 this fall. We are excited to watch that construction process, and develop a new group of leaders. With all of the reasons to celebrate, and with life sometimes feeling like it is going 100 miles per hour, I will be taking some time off to dedicate to my family, with limited work requirements. The “dark side” of being an entrepreneur has at times (inexcusably) caused my focus to drift. I struggle with being able to consistently balance work and family life, and sometimes a little detox is in order to recover, recalibrate, and refocus. So, cheers to Saratoga Springs, Cedar Hills, Jeff, and some much needed family time! 🎉 🎉 🎉 #smallbusiness #grandopening #saratogasprings #bakery

#CafeDump As I approach 2 years of working with CAFE+CZEN and Chase Cobbina/Billie Essco/Bizzy I’m taking time to appreciate the journey. He’s the most exclusive person I know, which makes being tied in even more substantial. Here’s a few things that I’ve learned: 1. The best relationships are when you can learn from one another and accept critism and feedback without offense. 2. Being able to comprehend someone’s creative thoughts and communicate what they are trying to say to the world is an invaluable skill set. 3. Support is a two way street. When someone believes in you as much as they say they do they will give you access to the same spaces that they get access to. Overall, working outside of the city still excites me the most but the beautiful thing about Cafe is that it’s GLOBAL. ☕️☕️

Incredible video from Jesse Cole from the Savannah Bananas at Fenway Park talking about seizing the opportunity, slowing things down and giving the fans their moment! Although this is about baseball and showmanship, I cannot help but relate to how this simple theory of slowing down, being in the moment and personalizing the moment matters in healthcare. And as we embark on the new Medicare GUIDE model for Alzheimer's and dementia care, the aspect of personalizing care and slowing down will become even more important. At PocketRN, we believe that nurse lead care is the key to driving ongoing, sustainable outcomes because nurses are the changemaker's, the empathetic people who relate, listen and care. Nurses personalize care delivery by focusing on things that matter to the patient. The things that a patient can relate to, and the needed motivation patients and their caregivers need to be involved! So, even though this video is about baseball, it is also about slowing down and being impactful! Cheers to all the nurses, athletes, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals and good humans out there who are making a difference and personalizing experiences, one person at a time.

Fenway Park was the biggest challenge we've ever had as an organization. Before the game, we had our Fans First chat with over 200 plus employees, players and cast members and I shared with the team how we could be our best in the moment. From Day 1, I've always believed in focusing on the fans first. But when facing real adversity, we often need more than just that mindset as our north star. We need to know how to put the fan first. What I've learned is that the greatest performers know how to slow things down. When things speed up, they can focus even better on what's in front of them in that moment. I shared how while we would have the most eyes on us we've ever had, it was the eyes right in front of us that mattered most. My goal was for everyone to take the extra time with fans, embrace the moments and truly be present. If we did that and focused on one fan at a time, everything else would take care of itself. After the game, I was truly proud of everyone on our team. I heard countless fans first stories and moments shared by our group and by fans all over social media. With every challenge, we get better and learn more. But who we are, what we stand for and the heart of this organization will never change.

Revisioning, repurposing and revitalizing residential areas into thriving neighborhoods | Founder of Neighborhood Lab
This post is a little personal…. I want to share how the vision for Neighborhood Lab came together, as I told the guests at our first anniversary reception. Here it comes: Starting your own studio is an exciting adventure. For me, this process began with self-reflection that helped me identify my strengths, motivations, and the kind of society I would like to help shape. This inward process resulted in a clear vision for Neighborhood Lab: CRAFTING THRIVING NEIGHBORHOODS. #Crafting The word ‘crafting’ is taken from beer crafting. I am not a beer crafting expert, but I know that it is a slow process of fermenting, flavoring, bottling, waiting, and finally drinking and enjoying. Similarly, crafting neighborhoods is a slow (and complicated) process. Just as with beer, you need a clear vision of the desired outcome, or "flavor," you aim to achieve. However, unlike beer crafting, which has a defined end (drinking), neighborhood crafting is a continuous process. #Thriving Research shows that thriving neighborhoods foster respect, empathy, and mutual support, leading to an enhanced quality of life, social inclusion, and upward mobility. These social qualities are extremely important in our society today, which faces significant social issues. Creating thriving neighborhoods is a way to help local communities reach their full potential. For us, “thriving” extends beyond happiness—it's about planting the seeds for a better society. Doing better together. #Neighborhoods A neighborhood is the area where we live. It is the collective extension of our private homes. When we say 'location, location, location,' we're basically talking about the neighborhood... Crafting a neighborhood doesn't always mean a complete redevelopment of an urban area. It's more about generosity than scale. Every building, street, park, and square has the potential to contribute to the vision of creating flourishing neighborhoods. Looking forward to continuing our work and efforts in crafting thriving neighborhoods together :=)

Meet Tony! Tony is a Crew Leader for our site improvement division. He is what we like to call a “generational team member,” meaning his father Jose also worked with us for many years. How cool is that?! ILT Vignocchi chose him as our featured team member this month because he is one of the hardest working people you’ll ever meet, always ensuring he does a top notch job. We also asked him some fun questions, check them out! 1️⃣ What's your favorite thing about being a part of the ILT Vignocchi team? Tony said: “They give you many opportunities and respect you.” 2️⃣ What's a funny memory or story you have while on the job? He said: “My father Jose Salgado Soto told me, ‘At work you have to do your best and do it with passion.’” 3️⃣ What are your hobbies or what do you like to do on your days off? “My favorite pastime is being with my family. My children, going out and playing with them. Seeing them smile is the most beautiful thing.” 4️⃣ How long have you lived in the Chicago or Wauconda area? “16 years” 5️⃣ What's your favorite plant or flower? “Blue Hydrangea” 6️⃣ What's your favorite season? “Fall” And last but not least… 7️⃣ Does pineapple belong on pizza? “No” Thanks again Tony for all you do for ILT Vignocchi, we appreciate your dedication! So what do you think? Does pineapple belong on pizza? Let’s start the debate in the comments! #yardwork #commercialrealestate #teamwork #springclean #yard
