Salas O’Brien partnered with an international pharmaceutical manufacturing company to help offset their carbon emissions generated. The goal was to be carbon neutral by 2025 and carbon negative by 2030. After careful evaluation, a 4.5 megawatt combined heat and power (CHP) system was chosen to address current challenges, reduce emissions, and support their sustainability goals. We worked with Magnolia and Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture to transform this Moorish Revival-style lodge into a contemporary boutique hotel. Salas O’Brien provided structural engineering design for the building in the heart of downtown Waco. Since the original building had no existing structural drawings, the team used laser scanning to assist in analysis and ground-penetrating radar to identify concrete reinforcement.
