🌿Walking thoughts🌿 Here the other day I went for a walk out in nature and got time to reflect upon the year that has passed. The feeling that has stayed with me since is gratitude. For my colleagues and for our clients who yet another year entrusted us in assisting the realization of their sustainable energy projects. I feel really inspired thinking about all the innovative projects and how they contribute to shape a more sustainable and livable world. Thanks to our clients, Energy International grew with more than 33% in 2023 and by that welcomed around 75 new colleagues into our family. Particularly, I am happy about how this growth has been distributed on our key priority services within offshore renewables, green hydrogen/PtX, carbon capture and district energy. All services grew above 20% and even offshore wind, in a year of turbulence, grew more than 40%. This tells me that our skilled colleagues really provided quality advice to our clients during 2023, which makes me very proud – a huge kudo to all of you who contributed. 👏🚀 Now, looking forward I’m excited to share that we from the start of 2024 launched our new and state-of-the-art digital offshore wind foundation design toolchain, allowing us to provide even more value to our clients in their offshore wind projects. Join us tomorrow at #COP28UAE as we launch the BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) Consortium - a multi-stakeholder partnership aiming to unlock 400GW of renewable energy with #BESS by 2030.       🔋 The global BESS market is booming, yet less than 10% of new capacity will be added in LMICs. RMI along with @EnergyAlliance GLC members, are dedicated to changing this narrative and unlocking 400 GW of renewable energy with #BESS by 2030.     📅 Save the Date: December 2nd  🕥 Time: 16:00-17:00 GST  📍 Venue: SDG7 Global South Pavilion    RMI‘s Global Utility Innovation initiative goal is to unlock a scaled-up pipeline of over 1 GW of BESS and 1 GW of distributed renewable energy (DRE) across ten countries by 2027. We are proud to introduce Equinor as one of the key participants at the 3rd Europe CCUS & #Hydrogen Decarbonisation Summit! Equinor is an international energy company committed to long-term value creation in a low-carbon future. Their purpose is to turn natural resources into energy for people and progress for society. Equinor’s portfolio of projects encompasses oil and gas, renewables and low-carbon solutions, with an ambition of becoming a net-zero energy company by 2050.   Equinor has stored CO2 on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for nearly 30 years on the Sleipner and Snøhvit fields. This, combined with a 50 year history of being an oil and gas company means that Equinor has the expertise and competence to develop large scale #CO2 transport and storage solutions.   Equinor, together with Shell and TotalEnergies is one of three owners of the Northern Lights Joint Venture – the world’s first full scale CO2 value chain. Northern Lights will be ready to receive CO2 later this year. This marks the first step on their road to our CCS ambitions of 30-50 million tons per annum of CO2 transport and storage capacity. The following steps will be the Northern Endurance Partnership offshore UK, that Equinor is developing together with BP and TotalEnergies, and their CO2 Highway Europe, a large scale pipeline connecting Continental Europe to the Norwegian Continental Shelf.   At the Capital Market Update earlier this year, Equinor stood firm on their ambitions of delivering 15-40 TWh of decarbonized energy in the form of abated power and low carbon hydrogen. This will be achieved through projects targeting North West Europe, UK and the US. Projects include Net Zero Teesside, together with BP, which aims to deliver the Teesside industrial area with abated dispatchable power by 2029, and H2M Eemshaven a 1GW blue hydrogen project that entered FEED earlier this year.
