As part of our commitment to community benefit, Saint Luke's Population Health recently donated funds to Center of Grace to renovate their outdoor space. Last week, the new space officially opened to the public! Center of Grace's mission is to offer a hospitality space in Olathe with programs for health care, education, growth, and more. It also shares a campus with the Olathe Boys & Girls Club. The community benefit funds were used to create activity stations for sports, exercise, and social gathering areas. We hope families will have a fun summer at the new playground. ⛹️ 🤸 🥅

Help us get our students to camp! Read the post below to find out more about why this is an awesome learning opportunity for our students. Ngā mihi nui,
Kia ora team, Te Kura Tuatahi o Wēteri - Wesley Primary School will be sending our year 5 and 6 students (69 students) to camp hosted at The Institute of Awesome https://inawe.nz/. We are hoping to subsidize as much of the costs for our families to remove the barriers to attending our camp EOTC experience held on 20 to 22 November - this term. Last year, we were blessed by 88 donors who gave over $10k, primarily because of a post shared by Jenny Burke (thanks Jenny!). This year our school community was hit hard, due to the Auckland Anniversary floods and through the amazing support of so many organizations like @ARKPuketāpapa, Kindness Collective Foundation, MinterEllisonRuddWatts and many others, we were able to help our families get back on their feet. Our kids would love to go to school camp again this year and we are hoping to get every child to camp who wishes to attend. So if you would like to support our tamariki and wish to donate directly towards our camp please let me know or use our bank details to make a koha: Wesley Primary School ASB 12-3109-0011794-00 Ref camp2023 and your name - please do flick me an email for a receipt of your donation via [email protected] if you need. 😀 Many thanks in advance for your support Lou - Principal of Wesley Primary School

The Junior League of Washington’s (JLW) Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) shines a light on homelessness and housing insecurity in the DMV while raising funds to support JLW’s Community Assistance Grants. Stable housing builds stable communities. The greater Washington, DC area consistently ranks as one of the highest costs of living in the country, primarily due to high housing costs; this is especially true for residents of color. On any given day, roughly 30% of families are concerned about paying their rent – and when families must spend significantly more than 30% of their income on housing, budgets become pinched and lives become unstable. For five days, JLW members will wear the same black outfit to raise awareness of homelessness and housing insecurity in our community, while raising funds to support the JLW’s Community Assistance Grants, which awards grants of up to $5,000 to DC-area nonprofits for their community support programs Any and all donations to LBDI make a difference in our community. Help us achieve our goal of raising $40,000, or 8 CAF grants, through this week-long campaign November 13 - 17! https://lnkd.in/eUY3Cp8Z

"What difference does it make to someone’s life if they are able to get out into their local park? Here’s Colin’s story. Colin first got involved with Your Park as part of a project to assess and improve the accessibility of our parks from first-hand accounts. During his time with us, his dedication and insight into the challenges faced by Disabled park users led Colin to lead the access assessment of Hartcliffe Millennium Green. The group discovered significant barriers that prevent full use of parks, even at the front gate. Heavy entrance gates that are hard to open, a lack of accessible parking and toilets, and inadequate pathways and facilities, are all challenges a non-Disabled person might never consider. But it is crucial that everybody does. 🗣️ Colin shares: “Your Park has been working hard to highlight the fact that minorities suffer from unequal access to parks and green spaces - this includes Disabled people, women and girls, people from ethnic backgrounds as well as those from poorer backgrounds. This is an issue that often goes unhighlighted within society but one, I feel, is vital. Research shows that being able to access a park or green space improves people's health both mentally and physically. In addition, Your Park is putting co-production with the local community and lived experiences at the core of its project delivery. This is important because it means the communities and people who will be using the parks and green spaces can have their voices front and centre.” Help us reach more people by donating today. Plus, if you donate through our @Crowdfunder, your gift will be doubled. Friends and neighbors, 🏡💙 As we gear up for the season of giving, CHIP has "collective impact" on the mind. 🌍 As a community, a small lift from many of us can make all the difference for our most vulnerable populations. 🤝 If you have the means, we invite you to consider participating in "Giving Tuesday" on November 28, 2023. 📅 This year, all Giving Tuesday donations received by CHIP will be supporting Street Reach Indy. This Flexible Fund hosted by CHIP provides financial assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness to overcome barriers to permanent housing. Street Reach Indy is a lifeline for Indianapolis neighbors who are at risk or already experiencing homelessness by offering crucial resources to overcome housing barriers. 🏠✨ As a community fund, SRI empowers service providers to swiftly address the unique challenges faced by their clients, fostering stability and self-sufficiency. Without Street Reach Indy, a vital source of flexible funding would be absent, leaving unmet needs and dreams unrealized. 🌈 Your support isn't just charity; it's an investment in transformative change, helping move individuals and families from homelessness to a place they can call home. CHIP’s Giving Tuesday goal is to raise $10,000 to support the fund through 2024’s coldest months of the year and beyond. 💰🌧️ To give to the Giving Tuesday Street Reach Campaign, please visit https://lnkd.in/gcuQPJvq on Tuesday, November 28th, 2024, to access the Giving Tuesday Campaign. You can also tune into CHIP’s Social Media accounts to learn more. 📲 In the meantime…did you know? Street Reach Indy costs over $100,000 a year to fully fund! If you, your business, or your employer are interested in becoming a Street Reach Indy Sponsor, please email [email protected]. 📧 Together, let's make a difference! 🌟 #GivingTuesday #StreetReachIndy #CommunityImpact #DonateNow

One of the important ways community banks distinguish themselves from their large bank competitors is through customer engagement in their community activities. Years ago, in discussing our community giving budget, a CEO opined that our community donations budget really didn't belong to the bank. It belonged to our customers and our community. We were merely holding onto to the money until we decided where best to donate each year. The opportunity, we realized, was that if it was truly our customers' money, we needed to find a way to engage our customers in where "their money" went. We partnered with A World For Good (https://lnkd.in/ermhZpMc), to invite our customers' input on where to donate. It fundamentally changed our perspective and immediately boosted online engagement as well as brand differentiation. It was another important strategy in demonstrating to our market, why community banking is a better option than big banking.
As a part of ICBA’s commitment to making a positive difference in our community, we joined the DC Association community and Soles4Souls for the Soles4theDistrict campaign to raise awareness and money to help homeless children in DC get a new pair of shoes at the start of the school year. We raised a total of $6,380 for Soles 4 the district, and were one of the top 10 associations in terms of amount raised for this cause. ICBA employees will be handing out the shoes at a local elementary school in DC on September 22nd.

REACT DC's REACTwomen Event and MOMNetwork CEO Collaboration 👭 Last month, REACT DC hosted a REACTwomen event where we discussed the challenges of raising children while balancing religious and cultural diversity in the United States. The event featured a collaboration with MOMNetwork CEO Shellie McKinney, fostering a dialogue on this important topic. Diaper and Goods Distribution at REACT DC 🎁 During the event, REACT DC conducted a Diaper and Goods distribution, providing essential childcare items to families in need. This was made possible through the support of the Greater DC Diaper Bank which supplies REACT DC with 5,000 diapers per month. Additionally, we distributed safe period products from the Begin Again Foundation and facilitated a large-scale clothing distribution leveraging community donations. Community Partnerships for Comprehensive Support 🤝 The REACTwomen event and the associated distributions exemplify the power of community partnerships in addressing the diverse needs of families. By collaborating with organizations like Greater DC Diaper Bank, Begin Again Foundation, and leveraging community donations, REACT DC can provide comprehensive support, encompassing diapers, period products, clothing, and educational resources. #WomeninLeadership #Parenting #Diversity #CommunitySupport #Diapers #PeriodEquity #CommunityImpact #FamilyWellbeing

Executive Director and Cofounder of Spreading Threads Clothing Bank at Spreading Threads Clothing Bank
Learn about the story behind our Spreading Threads Clothing Bank logo. It may surprise you!
Did you know that the Spreading Threads Clothing Bank's logo was designed and created by a foster child? 12-year-old, Dagny Phillips, the adoptive daughter of Spreading Threads Clothing Bank's Vice President, Anna Phillips, was approached by the founders to create a logo that reflected what mattered to the organization. With hangers, a thread spool, and hearts, Dagny created a logo that supported Spreading Threads' mission of fostering dignity and growth within Southern Arizona's foster community.
