Here’s why you should regularly disinfect your hands    Whether you are in the subway, a daycare center or the office: germs and bacteria will be there with you. Many are harmless, but some carry infectious diseases. Most of them enter our bodies with the touch of a hand. And it only takes seconds: If a sick person opens a door and shortly after them, a (still) healthy person touches the same door handle, rubs their tired eyes briefly or scratches their nose the pathogens already spread throughout their body. Once their immune system loses the fight, infectious diseases can occur.    When you wash and disinfect your hands regularly you can break the cycle of infection and even save lives. ⚠️ Specific batches of carbomer-containing lubricating eye gels branded Aacarb, Aacomer and Puroptics recalled as a precaution due to possible microbial contamination ⚠️ We’ve issued precautionary safety advice regarding possible contamination of certain eye gels and we’re warning patients and users of the affected products to stop using them immediately. Products should be returned to the place of purchase. Anyone feeling unwell, for example with symptoms of eye infection, such as reduced vision, red and painful eye, should contact a healthcare professional and tell them that they have been using a recalled eye gel. Alison Cave, MHRA Chief Safety Officer, said: “Whilst the risk to users is low, we are taking precautionary action. “We are working very closely with our colleagues at UKHSA and will issue further advice to protect patients and the public, if needed. Do you see what I see?   Did you know that bulk soap dispensers can leave your hands with twenty-five times more bacteria after hand washing? Shocking, right? And, typically, there are more bacteria in bulk-fill soap dispensers than a toilet seat in the same bathroom.   While bulk fill dispensers are easy to maintain and cheap, they pose a health and safety risk. Airborne bacteria can contaminate soap, increasing the risk of spreading infectious diseases. As a business owner or facilities manager, consider switching to a sealed soap dispensing system. These systems are ultrasonically sealed, providing hygienic soap every time. You'll eliminate the contamination risk and get a measured dose every time. With a staggering 76% of Legionnaires’ disease cases originating from hospitals and long-term care facilities, traditional chemical treatments pose additional risks through byproducts and corrosion. A study published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene revealed a method to combat Legionella pneumophila, the bacterium responsible for Legionnaires' disease, in healthcare facilities. This method, which avoids hazardous disinfection byproducts and plumbing corrosion, showed a reduction in L. pneumophila concentrations under optimal conditions, presenting a significant step forward in waterborne pathogen control.
