🔍 Advancing cybersecurity to a board-level concern is critical, yet surprisingly, only 18% of companies prioritize it accordingly. The increasing frequency of #impersonationscams, such as those impersonating prominent individuals like Elon Musk for Bitcoin fraud, underscores the vital necessity for effective executive protection strategies. The SEC's X account was hacked! Many of you may have heard about the SEC's X (Twitter) account that was hacked a few days ago. It ended up causing the price of Bitcoin to fluctuate wildly in the range of $40 Billion. How did this happen? This is a large government agency in the age where social media posts have real world ramifications. How could they NOT secure their X account? I don't know how this oversight happened, but according to X they didn't have MFA enabled on their account. I was honestly blown away! There were a handful of other high profile X accounts that were compromised recently as well including Mandiant which is one of the largest cybersecurity companies in the world and they didn't state it clearly but it seems someone messed up and enabling MFA somehow got missed. People, companies, organizations, schools etc etc. do yourself and the people that rely on you to protect their data #JustEnableMFA Just enable it on any account that's worth anything to you, whether personal or business. Don't make the same silly mistakes that these people made. According to Microsoft (and others) enabling MFA can prevent 99.9% of account compromise attacks. If your not sure what MFA is or how to enable it speak to an IT professional. #mfa #security

⚠️Catching #victims off guard, there is a new surge in the widespread occurrence of #phishing attacks! Here is the #2024 data: Phishing attacks pose a significant threat to the security of #crypto users. In the first two months of this year, 97,000 users were impacted, resulting in $104 million in #losses, with #Ethereum users facing the #highest impact. Malicious phishing signatures like "ERC20 Permit" and "IncreaseAllowance" are being used to grant attackers access to #funds without user consent. These attacks are particularly concerning as signing just one malicious signature can lead to the loss of all #assets stored in a #wallet. Social media, especially #Twitter, has increasingly become a platform for luring users to #phishingsites through deceptive comments from #impersonated accounts. This highlights how important it is for each individual to exercise caution and due diligence until more robust #scamdetection and #prevention measures are in place. #CryptoSecurity #PhishingAttacks #cryptocompliance
