Coffee and alcohol are a perfect pair in cocktails. When you use your imagination, there’s no end to the number of coffee beverages that are possible. Making coffee cocktails is similar to cooking: be creative, expand on the recipe and produce your own creations. Vodka’s neutrality makes it the ultimate coffee partner, but the likes of rum, tequila, whisky and bourbon can be just as good. Whisky and rum tend to work better with strong flavours like hazelnut, cinnamon and orange, and pair best with a strong, dark roast coffee. Gin and tequila work nicely with lighter, floral flavours such as berries, almond and mint, and a smoother coffee. #snsinstitutions #snsdesignthinkers #designthinking Cocktails Cocktails are mixed drinks that are usually made with a blend of flavorings, mixers, and alcoholic spirits. They are available in a variety of styles, and their recipes can be quite varied. Cocktail creation is an art that requires harmony between flavors, scents, and presentation. Important elements consist of: 1. Base Spirit: The main alcohol component, such as whiskey, tequila, vodka, gin, or rum, among others. 2. Mixers: Non-alcoholic beverages such as fruit juices, sodas, vermouth, or tonic water that go well with the base spirit. 3. Sweeteners: Substances that give the beverage more sweetness, such as sugar, liqueurs, or simple syrup. 4. Bitters: Strong, aromatic flavorings that are typically added in tiny amounts to provide complexity. 5. Garnishes: aromatic and decorative garnishes that enhance the overall flavor of the drink, such as olives, cherries, citrus twists, or herbs. Cocktails can be shaken, stirred, blended, or built directly in the glass, each method influencing the final drink's texture and flavor profile. The world of cocktails is dynamic and creative, with mixologists often experimenting with new ingredients and techniques to craft unique and memorable drinks.

Hi, my company, Sunshine Consulting, hosts Team-Building Cocktail and Mixology Experiences. Virtual and In-Person.
The Secret to Cocktail Magic: It's All About Balance! ✨ Ever wonder how bartenders whip up those consistently delicious cocktails? It's all about the magic formula: spirit, citrus, and sweet in perfect harmony! Here's the key to unlocking your inner mixologist: The Golden Ratio: 2 oz Spirit: This is your base, the heart of the drink. Gin, vodka, tequila, rum - the possibilities are endless! 3/4 oz Sweet: Simple syrup, liqueurs, flavored syrups - add a touch of sweetness to round out the flavors. 3/4 oz Citrus: Freshly squeezed lime, lemon, grapefruit - a burst of citrus brightens the drink and cuts through the spirit. Pro Tip: Measure it Out! ⚖️ Using a jigger or bar spoon ensures consistent flavor every single time. No more "eyeballing" it and ending up with a cocktail that's too sweet or sour. The Shake-Up: Combine all your ingredients with ice in a shaker, give it a good shake (think rockstar, not sleepy arm swing), and strain into a fresh ice-filled glass. Voila! A perfectly balanced masterpiece ready to impress your taste buds (and maybe your friends). Now get mixing and share your creations! Understanding flavor profiles in cocktails is essential for crafting balanced drinks. There are five primary tastes, which are: sweet, sour, bitter, salty/umami and spicy. Each one of them plays a unique role in enhancing the cocktail experience and should therefore be known by professionals and hobbyists alike 🧠 Sweetness often comes from fruits, syrups, or liqueurs, providing a pleasant contrast to sour flavors from citrus juices. For instance, a classic margarita balances agave sweetness with tart lime, creating a refreshing harmony. Bitter flavors, which can for example be found in coffee, add complexity and sophistication. They work well with sweet components, as seen in a Negroni, where Campari’s bitterness is balanced by sweet vermouth 🌿 Salty flavors, introduced through salted rims or brine, enhance sweetness and Umami can be introduced through ingredients like tomato juice in a Bloody Mary, adding savory depth. Spicy elements like hot sauce, wasabi or fresh ginger invigorate the palate, creating exciting cocktails 🔥 By experimenting with these flavor profiles, bartenders can craft innovative drinks that delight the senses and keep the cocktail scene fresh and exciting - cheers to flavor exploration! 💫 #HollywoodDistillery #ArtisanalSpirits #FlavorProfiles #Exploration

Combining different styles of whisky can create a dynamic interplay of flavors and complexities that an individual whisky may not be able to achieve on its own. For example, a cocktail that blends both bourbon and rye can emphasize flavors that are robust, spicy, and sweet all at once. Similarly, a peated scotch can introduce layers of smoke to a cocktail that also uses a bottled in bond bourbon or rye. https://lnkd.in/enDy_itQ #whiskyadvocate #whiskycocktails #cocktailrecipes

JAMESON BLACK BARREL 2024 BARTENDER SERIES “THE TREASURE BENEATH” Recipe: Jameson Black Barrel Seeet Potato Cordial Home made Apple Cider Vinegar Soda Sweet Potato Chilli Tincture Garnish: Sweet Potato Chilli upcycled chip Glassware: Japanese Highball The choice of sweet potato in cocktails complementing Jameson Black Barrel whiskey likely stems from the sweet and earthy flavors of sweet potato enhancing the rich and robust notes of the Jameson Black Barrel whiskey. Additionally, the sweetness of the sweet potato can balance out the whiskey's oakiness and spice, creating a harmonious and enjoyable drinking experience. It's all about finding complementary flavors that elevate the overall taste profile of the cocktail. It's all about experimentation and discovering new flavor combinations that work well together. My inspiration for using sweet potato in a cocktail could have come from a desire to experiment with unique and flavorful ingredients and adding a touch of seasonal flair to the drink. Sweet potato offers a rich, earthy sweetness that complements the cocktail, making it an intriguing choice to use. The garnish for the drink is aimed for sustainability. The leftover of the Sweet potato chilli tincture was then layered on a dehydrated sheet and dehydrated. Later shaped and fried to a chip. #JamesonBartenderSeries2024 #Competition #Bartenders #JamesonBlackBarrel

Have you ever been confused about what type of cocktail to choose? 🤔 When you go to a new place or want to try something new, it's easy to be spoilt for choice. Fear not, I'm here to help! Firstly, what's a cocktail? A cocktail comprises a blend of one or more spirits (alcohol) combined with various liquids such as syrups, juices, bitters, and occasionally fresh fruits. As an experienced bartender, I usually advise customers on what to pick when they just can't decide. Here's a clue to how some famous cocktails taste: 🍹Pina Colada: sweet and creamy. 🍹Classic Mojito: minty and citrusy. 🍹Long Island Iced Tea: strong with hints of Cola. 🍹Mai Tai: sweet and tropical. 🍹Mudslide: chocolatey and coffee-like. If you'd like me to do more cocktails, let me know in the comments! Also, which of these cocktails have you had? Did you like the taste? Let me know 😄

🎉 It’s Vermouth Day! 🎉 It’s the day of the most important ingredient of Classic and Dry Martini. Yes, it’s the Vermouth Day. Mixologists celebrate this day on the 21st of March every year. For people who do not know Vermouth is a fortified wine or in layman's words a wine with liquor; added to stabilize the mixture. Vermouth sounds Italian and originated in Turin, Italy in the 1780s; however, the word is derived from the German word “Wermut” which is a herb used to give the bitter flavour to Vermouth. The Vermouth is not only a vital ingredient for Martini but for other cocktails as well. The sweet vermouth which is usually red in colour is mixed with other spirits and mixers to make Negroni, Americano, and Manhattan. The white and dry vermouth is used to create the finest cocktails: Classic Martini and Dirty Martini. Let’s Make a subtle and sweet Lilac Cocktail, with Dry Martini Vermouth for the perfect crisp tart flavour. Ingredients • Lilac Syrup • Dry (Extra Dry) Martini Vermouth • Crushed Ice • Lime juice + for garnish • A few blueberries, for garnish Method: Squeeze the lemon juice on a side plate. Then dip the glass into the lemon juice. Delicately shake the glass. Combine the lilac syrup, Dry Vermouth (Martini Vermouth), and lime juice in a shaker. Shake for about 30 seconds for all the ingredients to mix well. And do not hesitate to add more Vermouth. Now all you need is to strain the cocktail in a Coupe Glass. Optionally, set off with a few blueberries and lime slices. Cheers! 🍾
