In water treatment to have a good flocs we need to consider several factors : 1. The raw water quality 2. Choosing a suitable type of coagulant 3. Identified an optimum coagulant dosage 4. Identified an optimum lime/caustic dosage to get a correct pH 5. Identified an optimum polymer dosage All of these factors, the most crucial factor is you need to analyze the raw water quality wisely. From that data, you will know how to start coagulant dosage range, suitable pH range and so on. Otherwise, you will keep on try and error as you will waste a lot of chemical usage and money.
