S-RM is proud to have completed the Pinsent Masons' #moveforasaferinternet challenge in support of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). Over the last 31 days, colleagues at S-RM were in friendly competition with each other and other cyber industry folks to rack up the most minutes of exercise and raise money for an amazing cause. The IWF does incredible work raising funds and awareness to fight online child sexual abuse, with the mission of making the internet safer for everyone. Right now, they’re removing an image of child abuse from the web every 5 minutes—so every bit of support truly matters! Last year, Pinsent Masons and friends from the cyber community raised over £17k for this fantastic cause! The deadline is tomorrow, this is your last change to help us beat that number this year by donating through this link: https://hubs.li/Q02TFRVs0

Mexico's first woman president, Claudia Sheinbaum, has been hailed as a progressive pioneer, but business investors are wary of her close association with the policies of her predecessor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, even as Mexico stands to benefit from the nearshoring boom. Demand for cyber insurance is rising and with it the role of the CISO is changing - with security officers being asked to evaluate cyber risk and quantify it as part of the insurance selection process. S-RM's Paul Caron, MBA, Head of Cyber Americas, spoke to CSO magazine about the new responsibilities which have traditionally sat with the CEO or CRO, "CISOs are taking on larger roles — as they should — in those discussions and the decision-making process because they’re well-positioned to understand the threat landscape, the types of threats that could impact them, and how each one could impact the organization." Three members of S-RM’s London cyber team, Blanche MacArthur, Adelaide P. and Waithera Junghae were excited to attend Black Tech Fest last week. The event centres around innovation, technology and culture, and is the largest diversity tech gathering in Europe. They heard from clients and partners on topics such as AI and risk, entering the sector and leadership. “It was inspiring to see a room full of black professionals actively engaged in shaping the future of the technology industry. "The discussions on emerging tech trends were enlightening, and we were particularly inspired by hearing from black women who have long-standing careers in the field. Their advice to bring our whole selves, including our backgrounds and experiences, to our roles resonated deeply with us. We will definitely integrate this perspective into our roles moving forward.” EDI lead, Maria Petnga-Wallace attended a careers workshop with Stephen Adeoye who gave advice on standing out when job seeking: add your certifications, reach out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn, ask for referrals from current staff and network (virtually and in-person). S-RM are currently recruiting for a number of cyber roles across our global offices. You can find out more here: https://hubs.li/Q02TnNYF0
