Human rights abuses have long been a point of contention in the realm of ultra-fast fashion firms. But, what about in the luxury fashion space? Certainly, we cannot assume that luxury fashion brands are exempt from human rights abuses. Indeed, the problem is more pervasive than we think. Speaking with Sourcing Journal, Belén Satorre, Associate Director with S-RM's ESG practice, discusses this topic, stressing the need for luxury brands to strengthen their due diligence across their value chains. Tiny Sparks of Inspiration with Daniela: "Fashion Forward: Embracing Inclusion and Sustainability for a Transformative Future" At the Zero Project held recently in Vienna (Austria) I met @Samanta Bullock an amazing woman who like me believes fashion is more. In this short video I wish to share some considerations where I dissect the dynamics of the fashion world. Today, I delve into the strategic pivot towards inclusivity and sustainability. As brands redefine their policies, adaptive fashion emerges as a lucrative intersection of social responsibility and market demand. Analyzing this shift, we see it not just as a trend but a calculated business move. How can businesses navigate this paradigm shift successfully, ensuring profitability while championing social and environmental values? #fashion #inclusion #sustainabledesign #sustainable #socialimpact #environmental

Stella Mccartney changing fashion from within ‼ In the vibrant realm of fashion, I firmly believe that our clothing should echo society—making a statement beyond just fabrics, balancing purpose with a dash of playfulness, and, most importantly, contributing to a better world. Taking cues from the incredible Stella McCartney, the visionary behind the first-ever vegan "It bag," the Falabella tote. McCartney shatters the myth that ethical choices mean compromising glamour. Since launching her label in 2001, she seamlessly blends luxury with a celebration of modern femininity, becoming a go-to for countless celebrities. Let's draw inspiration from Stella's playbook—where fashion isn't just about style but a purpose-driven narrative. How do you view the intersection of fashion and societal impact? Share your thoughts, and let's continue exploring how fashion can be a force for positive change! #FashionWithPurpose #StellaMcCartneyStyle #EthicalElegance #SustainableFashion

Consumers today are much more environmentally conscious, and the fashion industry is no exception. Many people love the idea of buying secondhand luxury goods, as well as repurposing or upcycling items that are no longer fit for purpose. While there are obvious environmental benefits, not to mention the potential cost-savings for consumers, what about the implications for manufacturers who have intellectual property rights in the original items? In this first instalment of AJ Park's World Intellectual Property Day video series, Sarah Barclay, Eve Brown and Rumbie Mutanga take the World IP Day theme of "Intellectual Property and the Sustainable Development Goals: Building our common future with innovation and creativity", and discuss whether, when it comes to fashion, sustainability goals and intellectual property are conflicting. https://lnkd.in/gFB8mmZr #worldipday #intellectualproperty #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #sustainablefashion #upcycling #circulareconomy

Ganni A/S & Chloé are NOT sustainable fashion brands. Or so they say... Instead of claiming the 'sustainable fashion' label, Danish-born GANNI is outspoken about their sense of responsibility and how they take an 'earth-centric approach' in everything they do. Meanwhile, luxury fashion brand Chloé was the first to earn the B-Corp label as they set out to overhaul all aspects of their business, product lines and downstream impact. So what does their approach to sustainability really look like? GANNI and Chloé are widely recognized as leaders for “hacking” traditional fashion - from innovative new materials, plant-based runway pieces and start-up collabs. As a certified B Corps, they have achieved ambitious social and environmental milestones while continuing on a path of profitable growth. So, we're sitting down with Chief Executives Adrea Baldo & Riccardo Bellini who until recently were at the helm of these luxury fashion houses respectively. But what does this transformation really take? Come find out on 21 May.
