Small Business Venture 101 : Here's my two cents story. Charity start within our family and then beyond. As the saying goes : Charity begins at home. Some argue that charity start from home is being selfish and it defeat the true purposes of charity. They further pointed out that example such as Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa serves the people and not prioritise their family needs first. I tend to disagree with the above, as logically if we cannot even perform the needed helping hands for our very own family, let alone charity for the community or the larger world. If you can't even willingly to offer any financial assistant to your very own brothers, sister etc family members whom are in dire needs, would you willing then to provide financial assistant to strangers ? Above all, charity starts with one step at a time forward. Once the family units is in harmony, the larger society will flourish and grow in tantum. During this CNY, every charity counts and it most probably start from our closest surrounding family and community. One home charity for my kids, although it started a bit late: give them some simple house chores to work on.   Agree ?

Beneficiary or service user: This is a term used to describe the people or organisations that will be helped by the charitable organisation and their project. Is it a helpful term? We prefer to say “people we help” or “people we support” because beneficiary can feel a bit clinical and “them and us”.
