The cheapest cost per impression ad you can create right now is a superbowl ad. Even at 7 million for a 30 second spot, they are still wildy under priced. Even counting if you spent a couple million on production, 7 million to air the ad, 120 million people viewing the ad it’s crazy cheap. Little joys of a marketer's life: Stumbling upon your old work somewhere. Today, I saw a feature on Bingo! in the Marketing Monk newsletter, which featured one of my old projects. Back in the day, when I was working on Mad Angles, we had a challenge. Achaari Masti was the most loved flavour of the brand and continued to dominate mind share. We really wanted to showcase all variants of Mad Angles, and show the range we had. In a category driven by impulse buying, it’s important not to seem like a brand that doesn’t offer anything new. Consumers love discovering fresh experiences, and showcasing a range of products can really help a brand stand out. Here's the work we created with Ranveer Singh. While the glitterati descends at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, spare a thought for those who haven't and will not make it there. No hobnobing with the who's who of the ad world! What a miss.Damn!! What should they feel about themselves and the ads they worked on. The tireless efforts they put into their work, which in fact made real impact for the brand, goes unrecognized. Does it amount to nothing. Certainly not. The human tendency is ' I'm not good enough, this ad is not good enough'. 'I'm not recognized among my peers. I'm a failure.' Hold on. You entered advertising not to win awards, you entered advertising to do some great work that made a 'difference' for the brands, customers and the world at large. You shaped narratives, you made the needle move. Not getting a Lion, Tiger or a Panther shouldn't stop you from doing what you love the most. * Advertising *. So, hop on that saddle and gallop to things that are more important.🐎🏇While they get their Lion, you get the Lion's share.
