Great piece regarding disability and the hidden juggling act that many people have to undertake to function and fulfill roles often in isolation, fear of loss opportunities or judgement. With people with disabilities making up around 24% of the population and even more who go undiagnosed or undisclosed it’s vital that organisations can support those in the workplace. Great read if you didn’t know about the Spoon Theory. #spoonie #disabilityawareness

Everyone in the disability community is unique. We are often pushed into a one size fits all category for example, "he/she is in wheelchair, too, if they can do it, so can you!" Just because we both use wheelchairs doesn't mean we're the same. We could have the same disability, but we manage it differently. One piece of assistive technology might work for you and not for me. Despite how far we've come, this is still too common, especially in the medical and care field. The more access we can achieve, the quicker we can change these narratives. #disabilityawareness #disabilitycommunity #accessibility #disabilityinclusion
Engaging with an individual with a disability doesn't grant a universal insight into the entire disability community. Each journey is distinct, every narrative personal. Beware of the fallacy: The Disability Community is far from homogenous. #WeAreBillionStrong #DisabilityInclusion #Equity #Diversity #DisabilityRights #AXSChat #a11y
