Social planning meets Synthetic Populations! RWI Synthetics’ platform application for Youth Sense of Belonging in the Waterloo Region (Ontario, Canada) was selected as a poster presentation showcase at the Othering and Belonging Conference at the Othering & Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley in Oakland, CA, April 25th to 27th, 2024! Sense of Belonging is now recognized as an invaluable measure of youth sentiment, a critical insight for policymakers and other decisions in infrastructure, programming, and transportation in the future of their regions. The conference brought together reps worldwide who are invested in understanding and growing belonging in their communities. We were pleased and excited to represent the belonging work happening in the Waterloo region via the Children and Youth Planning Table of Waterloo Region. It was great to have Alison Pearson, a champion in Youth Belonging, Jim Moss and Serena McDiarmid of the Children and Youth Planning Table of Waterloo Region, and Debbie Engel at the poster session. RWI Synthetics generated the region and ran scenarios, including the impact of accessible programming and subsidized transit on Youth Sense of Belonging to connect investments to individual and community health, economics, and retention outcomes. A huge shout out to the Children and Youth Planning Table of Waterloo Region and the Grand River Transit team for championing the work on Youth Belonging in the Waterloo Region. This work led to intriguing insights from de-siloing decisions across multiple fields that converge to affect today’s youth and their ability to succeed and give back to the community! #Belonging #PosterSession #YouthBelonging #SyntheticPopulations #SenseOfBelonging

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to share this article I found that underscores the importance of a holistic approach to youth empowerment. Here's a couple things I want to point out: •We can significantly improve outcomes for our young people by enhancing assets, agency, contribution, and creating an enabling environment. •The emphasis on cross-sectoral investments and data-driven strategies aligns perfectly with sustainable development goals. It's inspiring to see how these initiatives can help youth reach their full potential and drive positive change in their communities💫 Take a read and let me know what you think!

Happy International Youth Day! The Youth represent a workforce and a fertile ground for advancing economic growth towards the future of our country. Their role in responding to the future of work becomes very vital and the need for guidance, effective dialogues and youth development becomes very vital in Economic Planning and Nation Building. “The Youth Must Grow with the Country in the context of development and nation building.” Nation Building calls for actions of government and the response of the citizenry to these actions to be in alignment. This calls for a guided path for the youth for a progressive order, their ability to be innovative, and their active participation in national process. “When a seed is sown into the ground, it dies and bear fruits,” and the end goal is to harvest what we have sown. With a guided process for youth development, the future remains strong with advance Economic planning and nation building. #InternationalYouthDay #YouthDevelopment #Excellence #NationBuilding
