It's #womenshistorymonth! As someone who was raised by a fearless grandmother who instilled in me the confidence to achieve anything I set my mind too, the first step is to just START! It's easy for any of us to get stuck in analysis paralysis. Truthfully, if we wait for everything to be perfect and for all of our "ducks to be in a row", we'll probably be waiting a lifetime for the right moment to start. Make a decision, start, understand there will be bumps in the road, and commit to a plan of action. Be relentless in your efforts to achieve what you set out to do and the rest will take care of itself. Follow: Primary Search Partners #mondayfuel #mondaymotivation
As we celebrate Women's History Month, let's honor the fearless spirit of women like Amelia Earhart who dared to defy limits and make her mark on the world with a story that lives on 80+ years later. As we reflect on the achievements of women throughout history, let's also acknowledge the power of action and determination in breaking barriers and shaping the future. Let's inspire and empower each other to embrace challenges head-on, knowing that the most effective way to achieve our dreams is to take that first step and keep moving forward. Here's to all the remarkable women who continue to make history and push our society forward every day! Last but not least, Nancy Maloney, director of insight & strategy, wraps up our series featuring the women at C-K who were on our Women's History Month panel. Nancy on who inspires her: "I admire the many women out there rejecting the scarcity narrative—the dated and unproductive notion that there is only so much space for us and that we must compete with each other for crumbs. I admire women telling our stories and taking up space. Not pretending NOT to be interested in things that are interesting to us. Not pretending to be ok with things that are not ok. I admire all the women who are committed to changing the narrative, changing the game, and ultimately changing the world. One human, one story, one action at a time."

"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." -Alice Walker With gratitude, today I celebrate International Women's Day. I'm so grateful to live in the United States. Here's a couple reasons why: 1937 — The U.S. Supreme Court upholds Washington state’s minimum wage laws for women. 1963 — The Equal Pay Act is passed, promising equitable wages for the same work, regardless of the race, color, religion, national origin or sex of the worker. 1964 — The Civil Rights Act passes, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. 1974 — The Equal Credit Opportunity Act passes. It does away with the practice of banks requiring single, widowed or divorced women to bring a man along to cosign any credit application - which means as a divorced mom, I get to have my own mortgage. 1994 — The Violence Against Women Act funds services for victims of rape and domestic violence, allows women to seek civil rights remedies for gender-related crimes, provides training to increase police and court officials’ sensitivity and a national 24-hour hotline for battered women. 1997 — Madeleine Albright is sworn in as U.S. Secretary of State. She is the first woman in this position. 2005 — Condoleezza Rice becomes the first black female Secretary of State. 2007 — Nancy Pelosi becomes the first female Speaker of the House. 2009 — Sonia Sotomayor is becomes the first Hispanic American and the third woman to serve as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. 2023 — Congress passes a new federal law that will automatically invalidate NDAs in the case of sexual harassment or misconduct at work. Victims will be able to speak out about their experiences, notwithstanding any NDA that they have already signed. "Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn't be that women are the exception." - Ruth Bader Ginsburg While equality has been pioneered by so many before me, the reality is that there's still a ways to go. I'm grateful - I've been in countries where women don't have a fourth of these basic rights or women to look up to like I do. That said, we have a ways to go. If women don't see or understand the power and influence they carry, causes and milestones like these will slow, progress will be stagnant and we will become complacent with what we have. I want my sons and daughter to see what is possible. I want them to look at their grandmas, aunts, uncles, and visionaries that have gone before them to see what happens when a woman discovers her voice, her power and her purpose. This is only a part of why I do what I do. There's more. There's always more. SHAMELESS plug: if you want to join something bigger than yourself - be a part of positive change and continue to forge forward - join us in a couple weeks. Not only will we have a blast, it truly is to empower women and their allies to continue the fight. To keep moving forward for progress. For us and for our girls.
"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any." -Alice Walker There's been much progress in the world for the rights and value of women, but there's so much more work to do. Our mission is to empower women to live with confidence and courage in community. We know women are powerful forces who have the ability to change history and create a legacy for the future. It's time to think differently about the status quo, to speak up and change the mindsets that keep women small and silent. While we celebrate the contributions that have empowered women in the past, today we look forward to all the work needed to keep moving forward. President - Lean In Network Energy (LINE) Founder & CEO Equity in Leadership Currently completing PhD by Research in Gender Equity for Executives in the Workplace Featured: Energy Segment on Advancements with Ted Danson
Love this discussion on “#empowered” from The Female Quotient. I’ve tried hard, long and repeatedly in my sphere of influence to eradicate the use of “empower” as it relates to the “empowerment of women”. No-one can be empowered by anyone or anything except through the power of their own purpose - this requires thinking and action - courage to do, and - agency to create a long lasting effect. For too long women have relied on gaining rights through appealing to logic, common sense and the gaining of permission. And it hasn’t worked for us. By identifying the necessary and relevant differences across all women we have defined how power impacts those differences and affects us individually and as groups, as well as accordingly, how we react to that power inside structures such as workplaces and socially. We must stop behaving by asking permission for #equity and #change of the powerbrokers who have created the #inequity, to afford us empowerment. We must do what #trailblazers have done before and who demonstrated what works - owning our own power and changing the game. In other words we need to change the game by owning it. For too long we’ve been having the same conversations - let’s instead put verbs in our sentences in order to DO #together and be women who #lead with our #power and #purpose, creating our own legacies for #action and #impact! And one more thing that I think is vital to the change woman are demanding - we don’t seek equality for it’s a male standard! We can truly start and finish the change by setting our own standard! Our female standard has already established what works and what is right, why keep referencing a standard that’s not ours? Let’s make the playing field OURS! Dorothy Arzner walked so Greta Gerwig could run. Throughout history, women have not just broken glass ceilings—they’ve claimed their place as powerhouses, shaping the future for those who follow. Many of these women, who transformed industries and broke boundaries, have been overlooked, their legacies unsung. You’ve heard the phrase empowered women but never empowered men. Women aren’t ‘em’powered— they are ‘in’power. These trailblazers didn’t wait for permission—they owned their power and changed the game. 💪 It’s time to shift the narrative and recognize the women who lead with power and purpose. Join us in the #EqualityLounge at #AWNewYork24, where we’ll spark conversations that inspire action and create lasting impact. Let’s make progress together. Founder + Strategy Principal at The Hush Collaborative | I use strategy and storytelling to provoke and accelerate change.
Our goals as a business are simple, and we apply organizing principles to achieve them. 1. Make sure your strategy (the words) drives action. 2. Make sure your operations (the workflows) make those actions easier. 3. Make sure your workforce (the community) is organized to achieve together. So when Erin Gallagher said she and her team needed support - we jumped at the chance to organize a group of people around an action, drive that action, and make it easier for more to join in. The Hush Collaborative refuses to follow the business-as-usual line that political neutrality is the default policy. Simply by existing, we are political. We support and will continue to support Hype Women and #hypewomenforharris because we deeply believe in women's collective power to create change within and outside systems. We believe in the power of HYPE and storytelling to bring us together, connect us, and propel us all forward. We share values, including being #honestforgood, telling it like it is, and centering truth over comfort. But most of all, we are biased towards action, in our business and in our personal lives. Doing something – anything is the fastest way to learn, grow, and create more action. If you haven't heard, Hype Women will continue the momentum of this incredible kick-off call with SEVEN MORE! Follow us. Join us. Take action.
With their kickoff call, Hype Women for Harris is bringing together powerful women for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz—together, we’re making waves. We had a blast collaborating with the HW4H Core team—Erin Gallagher, Alexis Voss, Jennifer Cho, and The Hush Collaborative.

👏 As someone interested in seeing women in the highest levels of leadership, values influence everything I do. 🤝 The extrinsic motivators are great incentive: titles, money, vacation, power. However, I will always remember that intrinsic values are what I am left with at the end of the day. What drives me to LEAD and be LED. What can MAKE or BREAK my feelings of meaning and purpose - FULFILLMENT and feeling ALIGNED. “Just like personal values, work values have to do with your preferences, purpose and desired path. It’s important to consider these values as you explore your current job satisfaction level and think about future career development.” Getting to be in the umbrella of Delta Air Lines Delta Vacations is awe inspiring in and of itself. Then, I see how they position themselves in the world, who they join forces with, and what their initiatives are and I realize WHY I feel the way I do. The Female Quotient has long inspired me, as an organization driving the advancement and equality of women in the workplace. To quote Shelley Zalis: “A WOMAN ALONE HAS POWER; TOGETHER, WE HAVE IMPACT.” I’m proud the be a part of this organization, witnessing women supporting women at all levels, from all backgrounds, encouraging us to move forward together. 💐✈️🌎
This week, Delta celebrated the power of connection at our second "Women on the Rise" event in New York, in partnership with The Female Quotient. The evening was filled with inspiration and empowerment, bringing together women to uplift one another in their professional journeys. Through our collaboration with The Female Quotient, we are committed to helping exceptional women build authentic connections and bridge the gap to the next generation of female leaders. Here’s to a future where strong, supported women continue to break barriers and pave the way for others.
