🚨 Attention Business Owners: New Filing Requirement Alert! 🚨 Have you heard about the new Beneficial Ownership Information Report (BOIR)? Starting January 1, 2024, all corporations, LLCs, and similar entities must submit this report under the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), even if you've already filed similar information for a loan or other financial purpose. Key points to know: • 📅 Deadline: Companies formed before January 1, 2024, must file by January 1, 2025. New companies have 30 days after formation to file. • 🏢 Who Must File? Most small businesses, including single-member LLCs and S-Corps, are required to file—even if you haven’t taken a loan. • 💸 Penalties: Fines of up to $500/day for not filing, and up to $10,000 or even jail time for willful violations! • 🛑 No Exemptions for Small Businesses: Unless you meet specific criteria like having 20+ employees and $5M+ in revenue, you need to file.
