It's a moment for reflection on the journey of the past year. Looking back, it was a year marked by various challenges, achievements, and significant milestones. One standout highlight was the opportunity to present findings from my research at ISPOR Europe 2023 in Copenhagen. The exploration, titled "Unraveling Acceptance of Healthcare Innovations in Neurorehabilitation: A Systematic Approach Through Health Preference Research," delved into the complexities of healthcare innovation acceptance. A crucial aspect of the presentation involved employing a Mixed Logit Model for a robust statistical analysis. Investigating Willingness to Pay and Predicted Uptake Probabilities, I gained insights into how technical aspects of digital interventions can shape acceptance. The session, part of the panel on "Using Discrete Choice Experiments to Elicit Carers and Patients Preferences," fostered engaging discussions and knowledge exchange. I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone who participated and to the supportive ISPOR—The Professional Society for Health Economics and Outcomes Research community for giving me a platform to share my research. 🌟 Insights from Meeting on the Med 2024! 🌟 This past week, CCRM Nordic delegates had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the evolving landscape of Regenerative medicine at the esteemed Meeting on the Med conference in Rome. It was a vibrant gathering of minds, buzzing with discussions on groundbreaking healthcare solutions. 🤝 Networking and Collaborations: It was exhilarating to meet potential clients, service providers, and suppliers from around the globe. The energy was palpable, and the possibilities for future collaborations are endless. Excited about what lies ahead! 🎤 Panel Discussions: A highlight was witnessing Jim Lund, CBDO at CCRM Nordic, participate in a riveting panel ‘Developing the ATMP Ecosystem of the Future’ that captivated the audience. 🔍 Key Topics Explored: Joint HTA/JCA Initiatives: A hot topic that sparked intense discussions on how harmonized technology assessments could revolutionize patients’ access of ATMPs. Allogenic ATMPs: While still challenging, the progress in cracking the complexities of allogeneic therapies was evident and remains a critical area of focus as it will hopefully allow for lowered COGS and shorter turnaround times. Patient-Centric Approaches: Hearteningly, patient welfare remains at the core of all discussions and innovations. The talk by @OPIE JONES FOUNDATION moved the audience and words from last year’s conference still echoed in participants' brains “These patients are either the first generation to live or the last one to die” which emphasizes the importance of Joint HTA/JCA Initiatives. 💥 How do we create a PROvolution? 💥 🗣 That was the lively discussion during this weeks H2O & Aarhus Universitetshospital event 'Dive into the implementation of #patientreportedoutcomes in Copenhagen. 🗨 Together with other expert speakers, Jørgen Schøler Kristensen Jesper Kjær Joost Enzing Andrew Thomson, we discussed the role of PROs in decision making. Based on the different evidence requirements within Europe, I pledge for creating good quality real-world data, that can be considered for decision making. Ideally, we build on existing primary data that is interoperable to be used for secondary purposes as well. Thanks to Thomas Metcalfe for moderating this session. 🙌 I also appreciated the discussion in the first round table, moderated by Tanja Stamm with Valentina Strammiello, Linetta Koppert, Simone Lubowitzki, Prof. Annette de Thurah and Prof. Matthias Rose focusing on the practical implementation and finding the 'right' balance of meaningful to patients, being actionable and ensuring a high scientific quality without being a burden for physicians and patients. My take-aways from this exciting round tables: 👉 I feel the urgency to collect PROs in clinical practice to support the conversation between patients and physicians, enabling shared decision making, while this quality data may also relevant for decision making. Its the right time to start, continue and increase the implementation of PROs! Let’s reshape the future of patient-reported outcomes together!
