At WI-HER, practicing equality means that we implement programs that provide the same access to quality resources, opportunities, and support for all participants, regardless of gender, age, or social background. Tailoring solutions is at the heart of how WI-HER practices equity. We use innovative, participatory methodologies like our iDARE methodology to advance locally-led solutions to ensure our programs meet the unique needs of different groups. Advocacy and policy change are key to how WI-HER practices social justice. We tackle the systemic barriers that prevent true inclusion and equality and strive for a world where everyone's voice is heard and valued. How can humanitarian organisations get the data they need to plan and implement inclusive programmes? How can they avoid data collection and analysis approaches that entrench the invisibility of those who aren’t being reached – often a significant proportion of the affected population. 📆 Wednesday, 8 May, 9-10.30 CEST Join in online: https://bit.ly/4bbXkrt Or in person: https://bit.ly/3Qwpc1a #HNPW #HumanitarianWeek #MissingVoices #Inclusion #DRR CLEAR Global Minority Rights Group Emily Elderfield Claire Thomas Mirianna Budimir

Today is World Population Day, a day to draw our attention and bring awareness to population issues globally. As a housing organisation, we're dedicated to ensuring we're doing what we can to support those living in lower income situations, whether that is here in Australia or overseas. Our programs don't just include building homes but also providing community informed education on issues such as women's health and gender equality, on water and sanitation and on safety within communities. “Sustained, rapid population growth adds to the challenge of achieving social and economic development and magnifies the scale of the investments and effort required to ensure that no one is left behind..." - UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs Together, we can continue to support vulnerable members of our global community and address the ongoing housing issues that arise with our growing population.
