Hervé Laitat, formerly CEO of Abelag/Luxaviation Belgium, has launched JetHouse Ltd, a boutique private jet service with a commitment to personalized customer care. Unlike larger fleets, JetHouse aims to maintain a fleet size of just 15 aircraft, ensuring a dedicated and intimate service. “Everyone says boutique, but you cannot be boutique when you have 25 or 30 planes,” Laitat says, emphasizing the importance of genuine, personalized attention. JetHouse, registered in Malta, debuted with a Dassault Falcon 7X in Brussels and plans to add an aircraft every six to nine months. The founding team includes Nicolas Willemot, CFO, and Tina Boeckx, Director of Flight Operations, both of whom have extensive experience from Abelag. The focus on a smaller fleet allows Laitat and his senior team, who collectively boast 175 years of industry experience, to provide unparalleled service. “We don’t like to disappoint. Having a client who sends you a handwritten note saying, ‘I’m so happy to have joined you,’ is what we have in our blood,” Laitat shares. JetHouse’s primary market will be Europe, the Middle East, and select French-speaking African countries. Laitat emphasizes that the company will not expand for the sake of expansion but will focus on areas where they can provide the best service. The journey to establish JetHouse began in May last year, with the team quickly assembling and applying for the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from Transport Malta, which was secured in just seven months with the help of Fiona Healy, MD of FCF Assets. Laitat values transparency and honesty in maintaining client loyalty. “The way to keep the loyalty of clients is to always be able to look at yourself in the mirror,” he states, highlighting the importance of trust and long-term relationships in the industry. Though he admits entrepreneurship doesn’t come naturally, Laitat is excited about the new adventure. “Some people are born entrepreneurs, some have to be entrepreneurs by the events of life. But it’s quite fantastic to have this freedom,” he reflects.
