🌟 Day 1: Exploring Piston Motions 🌟 Today marks the beginning of my twenty-day journey where I'll be sharing daily insights into various aspects of engineering. Task of the Day: Dive deep into understanding piston motions and their critical role in engine performance.

I just wanted to share my recent activity at Hyperlink and all the progress that my team has made in the past months. Not going to lie, it was some exhausting weeks. After conducting all the Linear Induction Motor simulations in COMSOL on the HPC, we were finally ready to assemble the test rig and build the system in real life. 2 different LIM configurations were winded on the stator. However, we forgot to use the star configuration to connect it to the power supply. So if the current were to be engaged, the wires would melt... In the end, my Propulsion lead Shay, managed to use the star configuration and finally connect the motor which was a huge relief for us. On the braking team's side, everything went smoothly and we managed to test the old eddy current system which can be seen in the video below. Moreover, my Braking lead Tarren succeded in building emergency frictional brakes. Overall, we've spent 3 weeks building and testing the system at our workshop. We still have room for improvement but our progress has been immense. This team-leading experience revealed how important practical work is in engineering and how it enhances the understanding of complex theoretical concepts. Lastly, we transferred all our work to a 60-page document for the European Hyperloop Week competition. If anyone is interested I can always have an interesting chat with you =)))

Writing a DNS code for a fluid flow over a bluff body in a group project, during my Master’s, widened my understanding of fluid dynamics! We learned the formulation of Navier-Stokes and the three-step algorithm, mainly prediction, projection, and correction. It made me understand the power of non-dimensionalization; how the manipulation of Re can model any physical phenomenon. The exciting part of the project was when we had to use the Fourier Transform to isolate the frequency of velocity signals along the wake. This was crucial in determining the frequency of the vortex shedding, which also shed light on the force induced.

Done with the 3rd rotation of ECFP, had a wonderful time with Aircraft Electrical Power System team in Systems Engineering, Boeing. It was amazing working on 777X Voltage Drop Analysis Project, some great reasearch work on multiple Electrical Simulation & Analysis tools like Siemens Capital, Synopsis Saber & Amesim Simcenter. Though the project have a long way to go, it made me understand the importance of Model Based approach and VDA for such a complex system. Learnt a lot about generation, distribution & conversion of electrical power throughout the bird. It was interesting to learn how AC Power, DC Power, BEPS, Standby Power work together to make the bird tear the sky during all possible conditions and maintain safety as our the top priority.
