The MSc students of Liverpool John Moores University with Maritime UK have organised the first #MaritimeMasters Webinar of 2024. This will be taking place on Wednesday 24th July – 2 pm to 3.30pm.  The Webinar will be online via MS Teams. The topic of the webinar is “Innovation for Ship Safety”. The theme of the International Maritime Organization #WorldMaritimeDay 2024 is "Navigating the future: safety first”. For International Day of the Seafarer this year, the campaign focussed on #SafetyTipsAtSea and seafarers' contribution to making the maritime sector a safer workplace. This webinar accentuates the role of the seafarer and the measures put in place to make vessels safer places to work, and the challenges faced. It stretches across all facets of the maritime industry and includes academic researchers, and veteran maritime personnel - some with first -hand seafarer experience. Seafarers are a fundamental foundation of the maritime industry and there have to be measures taken to ensure their safety and to put them at the centre of this conversation.
