Many breast cancer survivors eligible for genetic counseling and testing are not receiving it, despite the importance of genetic information in cancer treatment and survivorship care. A study by the University of Michigan Health Rogel Cancer Center revealed that although clinical guidelines are expanding to include more individuals eligible for testing, access and uptake still need improvement, with only a fraction of eligible patients undergoing testing during follow-up care. The research emphasizes the need for improved strategies to ensure that genetic risk evaluation and testing are integrated into survivorship care to enhance prevention and early detection efforts for patients and their families. #BreastCancer #GeneticTesting #SurvivorshipCare #CancerResearch #HealthEquity Read more here: https://lnkd.in/edQy6-mw BioMedHack.com is your leading source for the latest news, breakthroughs, and insights in medicine, biohacking, and alternative medicine.
