[Breaking News🗞] At the end of last week, The Romanian National Road Infrastructure Company - C.N.A.I.R. S.A. has approved the Multicriteria Analysis – Stage 1 (AMC 1), part of the Feasibility Study for Drobeta Turnu Severin – Domașnea High-Speed Road.🛣 The construction of the high-speed road Drobeta Turnu Severin - Domasnea, with a length of approximately 65 km, will lead to traffic decongestion on DN 6 and will provide a new traffic corridor through the southern area of Romania that will connect the south-eastern part of the country with the western part, respectively the Pan European Corridor IV, currently under construction. At the same time, an easy connection will be created with the bridge over Danube at Calafat.🌉 ”This construction will lead to fast and reliable travel over long distances as well as on commuter relationships, by reducing travel time and increasing average travel speed. It will also improve the road traffic safety conditions and will reduce the vehicle operating costs, minimizing, at the same time, the negative impact on the environment, as well as the negative impact on the population and human settlements. In our analysis we also considered the investment efficiency and sustainability, achieving expected operational results with minimal capital costs and justified maintenance and operating costs.” Alexandru Prodan, Project Manager Egis in Romania. The project is co-financed from Transport Operational Programme (POT) 2021-2027, and in AMC 1 there were identified 4 possible route variants. 🚢 Port of Tallinn is looking for Cooperation Partners in Muuga Harbour The Port of Tallinn has announced a competition aimed at finding partners for the development of a 7.6-hectare area within the eastern part of Muuga Harbour. The initiative, emphasizes a preference for proposals to establish a loading, handling, and storage complex for environmentally friendly fuels ♻️⚡ ⛴️ Muuga Harbour, Estonia's largest cargo port, boasts robust infrastructure and connectivity, including shipping links with Scandinavia and Western Europe, railway and road access to neighboring countries, and ongoing development of a Rail Baltica cargo station 🚄. The designated area, covering 76.274 square meters initially, with potential expansion of up to 67.978 square meters into the sea, offers access to a 198-meter quay and is 10.8 meters deep. The construction of Rail Baltica continues to be plagued by funding issues, putting the entire project at jeopardy. A much-awaited joint audit from all three Baltic states, promised last year, has now estimated that the project could require €10-19 billion more than expected. This would be a four-fold increase in the needed budget. Now, serious discussions on how to scrape the funds together have commenced. A Top Story by Danielius Bawah. RB Rail AS | Rail Baltica will not pass through all of #Riga before 2030. #Latvia is missing three billion euros for the completion of the line through its capital city. The Pacific 1 highway, part of the fourth generation (4G) highways along with Pacific 2 and Pacific 3, will improve connections between the Colombian coffee region and the Colombian Pacific. Pacific 1 spans 50.2 km, comprising 32.2 km of new double carriageway and 18 km of road maintenance. The project includes four sections with 52 vehicular bridges with a total lenght of 6.3 km and two double tunnels. During the design stage, PEDELTA participated in the design of the bridges of functional units 2 and 4 and provided assistance during the construction stage of all the project bridges. This project improves road infrastructure and strengthens the country's competitiveness by optimizing the connection between essential logistics and economic corridors. #Infraestructure #BridgeEngineering #Pedelta

#Poland has set out a €4.3 billion #road development plan for 2024. Poland will invest €4.3 billion in road #development, upgrade and maintenance works during 2024. The budget has been announced by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA). According to GDDKiA, the scale of this #funding will carry on for the next few years. So far, 16 large #highway contracts have been awarded in 2024 with the target being a further 200km of new #roads being built by the end of the year. One of the latest contracts awarded by GDDKiA has been for a 17km section of the €174.3 million S17 expressway. The #project will be carried out by a consortium that comprises Aldesa Construcciones Polska and Aldesa Construcciones S. A. The conclusion of the work will see improved #traffic flow between Lublin and Zamosc, via Piaski. In addition, a €127.4 million package of works for roads in West Pomerania has been awarded. Work will go ahead in due course for the Rusinov Ring Road and a stretch of the S10 Cybowo-Lowicz Walecki Expressway. The project will include #building 16 #bridges and is expected to reduce traffic delays in the area, with the work due for completion in 2028.
