Early childhood education fundamentally shapes how children approach learning. Investing in high-quality preschool helps children develop the essential skills they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. At RISE Education, our vision is to expand the accessibility of culturally rich specialty programs that encourage children to embrace unique perspectives, enrich their lives, and strengthen their communities. This insightful article from the National Education Association underscores the importance of preschool not just to introduce students to academic subjects like reading and writing, but to provide space for them to embrace creativity and self-expression.

Decades of research show that high-quality early childhood programs can have lasting positive impacts on young children. A new report from the National Academies lays out a new vision for high-quality, equitable preschool curricula. “A large body of evidence shows that early education can influence children’s long-term trajectories and life outcomes, but many children are denied the power and promise of high-quality preschool experiences or receive inappropriate early education that does not recognize and build on their linguistic and cultural strengths,” said Linda Espinosa, professor emeritus of early childhood education at the University of Missouri, Columbia, and co-chair of the committee that wrote the report. “Improving access for all children is a clear need, as well as ensuring program features that capitalize on their talents and promote life-long competencies”. Treetop Friends believes in the profound impact of preschool education. It's more than just an introduction to learning; it's a vital foundation for a child's future. In these early years, children develop crucial skills such as literacy and numeracy, which set them on a path to lifelong success. But it's not just about academic skills; preschool is where children learn to socialize, empathize, and understand the world. The emotional intelligence and confidence they gain during this time are invaluable throughout their lives. Moreover, preschool ignites the spark of curiosity, encouraging a continuous desire to explore and learn. In a rapidly evolving world, the adaptability, creativity, and resilience that early education fosters are indispensable for future challenges and opportunities. At Treetop Friends, our commitment goes beyond preparing children for the next academic step; we aim to nurture well-rounded, confident, and inquisitive individuals, ready to embrace the world. Instilling moral values in early childhood is crucial for shaping a child's character and fostering qualities like empathy and honesty. These foundational lessons contribute to positive social behaviour and set the stage for a more compassionate and responsible future. Early childhood serves as a pivotal time for imparting these values, influencing not only individual conduct but also promoting a harmonious society. At KA- The Preschool Preschool, the recognition of the importance of moral values in childhood education is woven into the fabric of their approach. The school stands out for its commitment to instilling not only academic knowledge but also a strong foundation of moral values. Through the regular narration of diverse moral stories and daily discussions on the 'Value of the Month and Words of Wisdom,' KA- The Preschool Preschool actively engages young minds in conversations that go beyond textbooks. This deliberate focus on moral development fosters character building, empathy, and ethical decision-making in the formative years. By integrating these values into daily conversations and activities, KA- The Preschool Preschool exemplifies the belief that nurturing strong moral compasses in early childhood education lays the groundwork for responsible and compassionate individuals who will contribute positively to society. #education #moralvalues #learning #preschool #knowledge #playbasedlearning

The skills children need for success in elementary school and beyond are developed during the first five years of life. For families, it's critical to select the right preschool—one with thoroughly trained faculty and a curriculum designed to nurture foundational academic, social, emotional and physical skills—and then extend learning to the home. In this article, leaders from our education team share the core skills to prioritize in preschool and why inquiry-based learning is the optimal approach to develop them. They also provide guidance for families to practice inquiry-based learning at home.
