It has only been a couple days, but from a player perspective, the new game mode Swarm in League of Legends has been a massive marketing campaign for the new skins and character that has also added significant value to the game. At its core, Swarm is a promotion for the new skins for various characters. But the new game mode that is mostly utilizing already existing mechanics in creative ways for a completely fresh experience has quickly become one of my favorite pastime activities. It offers players an entirely new genre of gameplay to enjoy, while also giving them a full live preview -inside the game- of the new skins for the characters. I would love to see this new game mode scaled up over time, perhaps modified accordingly for future themed skin drops as a "promotional preview activity". Swarm absolutely features a solid foundation and a fun gameplay that can easily become a mainstay side activity for League of Legends, similar to Teamfight Tactics (TFT) that was also created as a side activity of LoL but eventually became its own spin-off.

The Global Game Jam was so much fun! Collaborating with Irina Jankovic, Aleksandar Ristic, Natalija Manja and Miladin Kolarski on "Bean Voyage!" game for theme "Make me laugh" had us laughing many times 😆 Despite being a 48-hour game jam, our game was actually created in just over 30 hours because our idea struck in the middle of the second day 😅 Big shout-out to 🎮 Sava Minić and his team for putting efforts to organise this jam, and to PLAYSTUDIOS EUROPE for provided space! Our game is about two beans trying to escape a soup where they don't belong. Avoid eggplants, try to be caught by the ladle and then play skill-check to escape to the freedom! Unconventional Friday Wisdom: Do you struggle to focus on a specific task with your brain constantly jumping between thoughts? Try listening to a 'Longplay' of an old videogame. Use the sound effects as your virtual soundscape to get things done. It's a personal journey to find the right game, but I recommend one with little to no dialogue, from the '80s or early 2000s. I've found Gauntlet Legends to be an effective team-building tool. The game, an isometric, single-screen dungeon crawler with simple RPG elements, conjures a digital fantasy realm where Wizards team up with Barbarians to fight their way through impossible challenges. All set to a phenomenal soundtrack. The repetitive drumbeat of the attacks keeps time to keystrokes and the delete key. So, what if the LinkedIn post you're struggling to write was timed to an arcade game from the late 20th century? Finding a game to listen to is a fantastic way to discover little things that shake up your daily reality.
