This is something Australia should consider acquiring. Chinese AGIs come south every major Australia/US exercise and they are also common in some parts of the world such as the Baltic, Mediterranean and East Asia. Such vessels open up access opportunities through proximity and have persistence that aircraft do not have. Obviously vulnerable in war (like SURTASS-E equipped vessels), but there is a lot that can be achieved in peace or out of range from adversary weapons (like SURTASS-E equipped vessels).
